LOL! Last night I told my husband about their "cancer diagnosis" stamp faux pas and he came up with quite a few like yours, 10:20. Such terrible bad taste. Tacky, tacky, tacky.
And as to the comment on the last post about Rachel, I completely agree. She made her point, got her refund from Paypal.... she needs to be done now. As for her points, that's up to her - I agree, it's like throwing money away and actually you probably want to "take" as much as you can from a company you despise. She'd be claiming something she earned with past purchases so make them count more. Is she worried that PTI will have a laugh over using her rewards?? THEY DON"T CARE. My goodness, they don't care a hill of beans what she does when she's spouting off against them all over the internet, what makes her think they'll give a damn if she uses her reward points?
Just stop sharing every little detail with the rest of us - Rachel, you're making yourself look the fool now.
Oh my gosh. I saw the comment here about chemo treatment and I thought they were kidding. They really made that sentiment stamp.
If I hadn't thought PTI jumped the shark a long time ago, this would be it.
They need someone new to review their releases. Nichole needs a neutral ear, someone who will be honest with her and rein her in when she goes off course like that.
Besides the fact that that sort of bluntness just doesn't belong on a card, if you know a friend is undergoing treatment, you know that those days are tough and on a regular schedule. What may be worse about that stamp is "I heard you have another ..." That just sounds rude.
What's next? Gift tags to include with a care package of magazines and a lap blanket that say, "A little something for your chemo treatment day.." ????
The comfy pajamas poem (which sounds like it's from a vintage card, and I will copy it if I want to use it) and maybe hope is the best medicine (for a cancer patient) are the ONLY sentiments from this set that I would ever use. The rest are lame or tacky. And feel better soon - well I already have those, duh.
Those cancer/chemo stamps are just strange. I can't imagine that they will sell. This whole release is just yuck IMO. I normally see something I like or want. This month, nothing. On another note...I went and looked and zendesk after the problems posted above. T reminded me of an order I placed last year that was held for a long time because the linen bags were out of stock. After many emails back and forth I was told I would be given the same sale once the bags came back in stock. I was never given this sale. I had forgotten all about this. Now I am irritated that PTI did not make this right. I hope this makes sense. I am typing on a phone and it is hard to see.
I have to agree with the others here - awful release.
I'd put it in the top five of worst releases ever. So boring!
The one cute set is the stitched stuff but I am so not into sewing. I do like the four Congratulations word stamps. Yep, at this rate, with a decent $5 set here and there, I may have an order together in another year!
The "tipped" dies just crack me up. Are you kidding me? People will pay for something they can do in two seconds with a paper cutter? I'd feel foolish if anyone knew I ordered that or saw a card I made and named it in a supplies list.
I get the impression that PTI is now a "spare time" sort of endeavor for Nichole. She totally phoned this one in. I think she doesn't take the time to put in any effort anymore. Maybe if she hired some true stamp designers instead of relying on a CARD DESIGN team to do them for her. (not saying this release was all designed by team members - I know Lizzie and Melissa each have one - but in general, she doesn't have anyone hired specifically to design the stamps, right?)
10:56, your post makes sense. I'd try to get the sale prices if I were you, but it probably just is not worth it. As long as you aren't out any $$$ now. You have to think that if you forgot all about it, there couldn't have been anything you were dying to have anyway, right? At most, I'd forward them back that email if you still have it and ask them to process the order, but you may just be looking for a hassle. I could see them processing it without the sale prices and then you're in Refund Refusal Land and who wants to go there, right?
Sorry for your bad CS. I'm pretty sure most if not all stamp companies would have shipped your in-stock sale merchandise and sent the bags to you when they came in at no extra charge.
I just went and looked and my old receipts. Julie included a letter saying they would do a one day sale once the bags came back in stock. The sale never happened. I also went and looked at the zendesk emails back and forth with Julie. She was rude and I told her in one of my emails how other companies notify you when there is a delay in shipping or something is out of stock
Anyone else remember the days when you studied every post leading up to a release to spot new products that weren't always mentioned but were really snuck in to the samples?
And then seeing the release - finally - and making your list, adding it up, can I get more, do I have to leave something out, so much to choose from.... ???? Wow, it's like it was an entirely different company back then. It WAS exciting.
Nichole really needs to change that opening paragraph for release day. The bloom is off the rose, lady.
How do I know who doesn't what? I don't understand the question.
I'm guessing you mean there are some people who still look at it that way.
That would be surprising. When they started out, there was no one else doing what they were doing and it was exciting and it was fun. You can find similar products all over now and that's part of it. The style is kind of watered down though. And PTI just doesn't offer what they used to.
Wow! Way to phone it in, Nichole and minions. "Yay! Hey! It's your CHEMO DAY!" WTF!?! That is as bad as the "your cancer diagnosis".
I finally placed my finger on what bugs me about those sentiments: for many people, myself included, medical diagnoses are private, personal information. Perhaps it comes from having worked in a hospital. Perhaps it comes from my own medical struggles. But, dammit, my diagnosis is MINE and it's not for you to blab on a card.
I notice that no one started a thread about any of this crap on the forum. Though everyone seems to like the new alpha dies. I do, too. But not $48 worth of like for the set.
You got it. And that's why the "I heard..." comment bothers me so much.
I have known many women with the diagnosis of breast cancer. Finally I asked one, someone whom I consider to be a somewhat private person, if it wasn't hard having it all "out there." That everyone knows what you're going through and asks questions - and a lot of people have that diagnosis so a lot of people know the questions to ask and know a general protocol for treatment - and sometimes don't you just wish it was private. Because I think I would. And she told me she loved the support she got from coworkers, etc., but she totally knew where I was coming from.
But I'm like you -- I would kind of feel like it was an invasion of privacy.
Yes! It *is* the "I heard" part of the sentiment that bothers me. It very much makes it seem like someone else told me. Thanks for helping me even further pinpoint why I dislike those sentiments, in particular.
I think Nichole is so busy with her new stamp company that she just doesn't have the time to spare for PTI any more. Quite the shame, but I do look forward to her new venture!
Yeah, 3:46, I think 3:54 has your number. Name names or don't bother.
Now. . . . theoretically, it would be the best thing she could do if she wanted to stay in this business. Start her own company on the sly and then bail on the others who are dooming PTI.
Or maybe I should rephrase that. If she it a year or two or three ago, it would have made sense. I think she's lost a lot of her creativity. Unless she is putting it all into something else and doesn't want to put out good products for PTI. But this company is going to overshadow her reputation no matter what she does next. And I think there will be a next.
Sometimes I wonder if they are just putting out kind of blase stuff now and stocking small amounts of inventory so at some point they can get some of their overstocked stuff out of there and close up shop. A good reason to come up with stamps to specifically go with other stamps in the shop. Also the DT is always asked to focus on certain things and I bet it's the slow sellers. So they have their usual releases, maybe grab some new customers who haven't seen the old stuff yet, get some of that sold out. . . . I mean if they did close up shop, can you imagine them having a clearance sale?!!? Heaven forbid!!! PTI stamps are too much of a treasure to let go for anything less than full price. And no new colors. That's telling, wouldn't you say?
At this point, I think Nichole has been associated with PTI for too long to jump ship and start her own company and have it be like starting over fresh. Too many examples of she, herself, being snarky and cranky. No way for her to blame it all on the Heskamps.
Besides, the stamps would still be full of grammatical and punctuation errors.
Alpha dies? Put the money toward a cameo and then you have a thousand fonts in a thousand sizes and PTI doesn't get your $.
Cardstock? I think they don't make much as the other poster said.
This release, imo, is the worst they have ever had.
Nichole? She has lost her celebrity and has just become a greedy B and I doubt she could even get a following. Not to mention her creativity is completely down the tubes.
I had breast reduction years ago... why don't they start doing "hope you're doing well after your boob job!" stamps? Or maybe "hope your vasectomy heals quickly and you're back up again soon!"
To be fair, even though it was a boring release, there were some cool cards today. I especially liked the balloon one with the stamping on the background and on the diecut.
All you peeps who thought he divorced her should be ashamed. Not sure about his first wife, Laura, though. She's still alive so I guess he did divorce her. If anyone has info, feel free to post it here.
If Nichole posts that stupid "time of the month" paragraph one more time, I'm going to scream. No wait, on second thought, I'll just send her a tampon.
Take away Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, Raspberry Fizz and Pure Poppy and Dawn wouldn't know what to do! Does she realize that there are other colors out there?
You're probably right about the cardstock. Plus now there are lots of companies that have their own coordinating cardstock, ink, etc. Their whole mess with the ink - repeatedly - did more damage that it seemed. If you are all matchy-matchy, and the company can't provide the ink part of the equation, then you are out of luck.
So not one post here about what people bought? Where did all the unis go? I guess they are too busy posting on DTs blogs trying to win prizes! Or maybe this is finally the indefensible release.
"Out of the park?" Yeah, that's a uni. I mean, sure, I can see someone finding a couple of useful items in this release. But "out of the park?"
Just read the posts by the person who wrote to Julie and Julie's response. I guess she's just going to stick to her guns about NO RETURNS EVER EVER EVER. Well, maybe your damn rules and policies are out of line with what the rest of the papercrafting shopping world is offering, Julie. What a fool. She shouldn't have even replied to that woman's email.
She replied to that woman's email, who incidentally has never even shopped at PTI, to explain to her that the return policies apply to everyone, even the "good" customers who buy frequently. Out of ALL of the returns over the last 6 years, why did she single that one product out and refuse to return it? Because it was used, that's why. And the policy says "no returns on used products unless there is a defect in the product." Rachel tried to sell her used one on the forum, and when nobody wanted to buy it, she tried to return it as the new product, much to her dismay. Should the policy only apply to "so-so" customers, but not "good" customers? How can they call it a policy if it is not applied across the board? I am the first to admit that there have been issues over the years... but this woman is clearly in the wrong and she won't stop screaming until someone believes her lies.
Provide the link if you're going to talk about it on a new thread. It's called courtesy. I really dislike the posters who say 'it's on SCS' or 'find it yourself' when someone asked for a link.
Link to Rachel on SCS: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/general-stamping-talk-f17/sharing-experience%3B-crafters-must-aware-t580561.html
12:31 - there is only one person who really knows if she returned a used one. I suspect you may be right - it's quite the coincidence if she was trying to sell a used one and then happens to replace it "accidentally." Hmmm. If she was trying to sell hers recently that is not a likely mistake on her part. I have to say I am very skeptical of her claim.
I still think it was stupid of Julie to take the bait.
PTI has got to start to wonder though what kind of reputation they have left - if you can get all of these people on a thread on SCS to buy into Rachel's story, maybe it thinks just as much to how willing people are to see PTI doing the wrong thing.
And that thread has been linked here before - it's been an ongoing story for days and easy enough to find on the first page of GS. Honestly, some people are so lazy.
What continues to tick me off about Rachel's tirade is that she is one herself who knew way before now that PTI's CS was bad, yet she continued to drink the kool aid. But now, because it happened to HER, she's on a crusade to bury them. JUST. SHUT. UP. ALREADY! I wish so bad you could comment anonymously on SCS!
I was ready to think the worst of PTI myself when I first read her story. But it really does sound like, if she was trying to sell her old plate before this, that she was trying to give them an old one.
But here's the question: She said none of her plates look used. I've had those plates and maybe I have a different machine or something but if they are used very much they do warp a bit. The ones that are used very little still look new. So maybe it's used and maybe it's not. But I don't see how she could be trying to sell the same thing and then mistakenly order a second one.
Regardless - new plate, old plate; liar or not.... I completely agree with one thing: SHUT UP ALREADY. I also wish we could comment anonymously on SCS.
I'm curious about PTI's order volume. For those still ordering, how many order #'s are between your last 2 orders and what time frame is it? I remember there used to be thousands of orders between my monthly orders. I haven't ordered since early spring so I'm wondering about their more recent sales activity. The forums are dead so I wonder if sales are too??
I want to use up some long earned reward points. So I went back and looked through old sets, by image. You know, the depth of their stamps is really huge. It really is impressive. And there are some really great sets. The problem is so many new things are released monthly that the old sets get buried in the crap. And unfortunately lately there's a lot of crap.
I was thinking to myself; winter holidays are coming, they should be revisiting LOTS of their holiday stamps from before. Not just the 1st of the month. But they don't. Stupid on their part.
I honestly think they need to be more choosy about which stamp sets make it to production. And the first few "year long $5 stamp series" sets were great. Now? They are redundant and b-o-r-i-n-g. Nichole should be designing most of the sets (images, NOT SENTIMENTS), and they need to bring in a few more trusted, proven stamp designers. I have been really disappointed with what PTI is choosing to produce. The "what would you like to see next year thread" is full of fantastic ideas for stamp sets, yet this month we get 3 $5 sets, another stitching set, a silly dancing set, and shit-tons of sentiment only sets. I don't get it.
Here is the message that has just been posted: ***************
---Quote (Originally by jkstampin)--- I interpret this to be her commenting on the customer screaming - in others words the louder you complain. I interpret the second part of that sentence "the more you have to hide" to mean the customer is lying or hiding something. i.e. the louder a customer screams the more she seems to think they are not being truthful. ---End Quote--- I interpreted it to mean the same thing, that if someone (in this case, ME) is screaming loudly, it's because they have something to hide. But when you think about it, that doesn't even really make any sense. If I knew I were in the wrong (as in, I actually HAD sent back a used plate and knew I had been caught in the deception), why would I bother going to all the trouble of doing what I'm doing...it takes time and energy to write these posts, file a dispute with PayPal for a mere $16, file a complaint with the BBB and post everything on my blog as well. I wouldn't waste all of that time for an unrighteous cause where I knew I was wrong. I suppose someone would, but again, it goes back to the question of how many people in the crafting world do you think are the lying, thieving type? It just isn't that likely. Add that to the fact that Papertrey has had countless other complaints against them over the course of many years, and it starts to seem pretty outrageous for her to a ccuse the complainer of being the one who has something to hide.
The fact that she can still write "We believe in truth, honesty and integrity" makes me wonder if she isn't suffering from some kind of fully delusional mental disorder. She has dealt with losing customers left and right, up & down because of her terrible service and rude, condescending attitude OVER AND OVER again over many years and still insists that she is in the right?? ALL those customers are wrong and she ALONE is right? Wow, the arrogance is astounding. ***************
I agree completely about the lameness of this release. Pretty pathetic.
And someone should post on Splitcoaststampers to Rachel and ask her about having tried to sell her old plate on the PTI forum. I consider it highly unlikely that you are trying to get rid of something and then "accidentally" order the same thing. I've resold a lot of stamp sets on SCS and other places and my sales list is very fresh in my mind. You make a list and then you post that list and you monitor that list . . . how on God's green earth could she have been trying to sell it and then buy the same thing? I mean, she's selling it so obviously doesn't want it anymore. It's hinky.
Getting pretty sick of the Rachel pity party. And I'd be the first one to think PTI is in the wrong because their poor attitude toward customers is pretty well documented. But I have to wonder about this Rachel chick.
If you read her blog, in an email to Julie, Rachel wrote that she tried to sell the plate on the forum AFTER accidentally ordering it for the second time. When she didn't have any luck, she wrote to Julie to see if her order could be modified to remove the IP, but Julie informed her that the order had already shipped.
Oh, I guess I misread something on that. Hmm... I'm still a little curious if the dates line up -- when the order was placed, when she put it up on the forum, when she took it down, etc. But not curious enough to investigate it, lol!
Bottom line is that PTI CS has issues and I think Rachel has some issues too.
One of the most interesting comments on the SCS thread, to me, was the person who commented how difficult she found the website. Yeah, no one talks about that anymore. Everyone has just given up on PTI being responsive to any suggestions or fixing any of their problems. They'll just stumble along and one day they'll go quietly in the night and only a handful of people will miss them.
And the whole notion of "lots" of customers following behind Rachel in her tirade is ridiculous. There are maybe 10 or so people (without looking) that have gotten behind her. Compare that to thousands of orders that go out to happy customers every month and you start to see why Rachel's threat to go public didn't outweigh the need to hold her accountable when she tried to return a used plate against policy, and then lie about it.
All you peeps who thought he divorced her should be ashamed. Not sure about his first wife, Laura, though. She's still alive so I guess he did divorce her. If anyone has info, feel free to post it here.
I think those bad links are just another example of how they don't even care about the website/store anymore.
Did you ever click on some of the links in Nichole's sidebar? Some of the ones under the heading "blog friends" don't work or go to dead blogs.
They just don't bother. And I noticed that, too - a lot of DT's links to the store don't work. Maybe that's the DT themselves that haven't updated them.
I know PTI has lost a lot of old customers. I just wonder how they think they're going to keep or attract new customers with such a lousy store.
I have been a PTI fan since the beginning until the last year or 2. I find their store nearly impossible to navigate when looking for certain items, unless I know the exact wording they choose to use. I am well acquainted with their products. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be for someone new.
totally agree on the dead links. Nichole and most of the DT need to clean up their blogs. The air has gone out of PTI's balloon. Sorry, but this year's christmas stuff was not competitive. Everything they make looks alike. big word dies, etc. a few things caught my eye. I happen to love the dance set. it is DIFFERENT. almost everything else is a yawn fest.
I tried both MFT and ME inks. MFT inks are really juicy, almost too juicy? They also stained my clear stamps. :( ME inks have a chalky, smooth finish. Between them, I would definitely choose ME inks and hope to add more to my collection. I like Memento Luxe inks too.
I wouldn't invest in inks with a new company like that. I love chalk inks but I'll stick with Versamagic.
So many new companies have popped up even in the last year or so and I wonder how many the hobby can sustain. So many older companies with years of good reputation and customers are falling away. Of course, maybe some of these overnight mom & pop online places don't really look for making a living but just some added income.
Yes, Mama Elephant inks are pretty much the same as Impress. I'm not sure about AMuse as I've never ordered from them. I agree there have been so many new companies, but ME seems to be on the right path to success, even Studio Calico is working with them.
I really like Mama Elephant. They have fresh, fun designs and I LOVE their Bootastic stamp set. Adorable, great sentiments, and fun to color! I hope they stick around for a long, long time.
A Muse and Impress are made by the same mftr, in the same case, same formula. Colors are slightly different. A Muse reinkers are half the size as Impress ones.,
ME has SOME cute stamps but not everything is fresh. I don't like to color so maybe that's why...but either way I think some of their images are not do well coordinated whitin their sets, like they don't go together.
I know this is OT, but figured someone here would know. I missed all of Downton Abbey, all 3 seasons. It is not on Netflix. Is there any way, short of spending hundreds to buy the DVD that I can watch it somewhere?
Season 1 used to be on Netflix streaming but they have pulled it and it is now only available streaming on Amazon Prime. Season 2 is also on Amazon Prime streaming. Season 3 is only available for purchase, either DVDs or on Amazon Prime ($14.99/US for the season). Also keep an eye on your local PBS station as they will often replay entire seasons before the new season comes out (January 2014). I'm hoping to catch season 3 that way but will purchase it on Prime if I don't get to see it before then.
The DVDs are not that expensive. Sometimes they are even on sale at places like Target, or if you have a membership at someplace like Barnes and Noble you don't pay full price. You could also try your library or ask a friend if they have them. Or go in on them with a friend.
Are you sure about Netflix? I could swear season 1 was on there! Maybe they pulled it though... it's been a long time since I looked. I'm one who has wanted to get caught up with all of the seasons so I can join in the hype, but who has time?
PTI has nothing to do with the links on the DT blogs. And to say the PTI has lost business or is fading away is stupid unless you have some data to back it up. And the search feature of their website is only limited by the person doing the search. If I can't find something by clicking Stamps, Dies, Ink or Paper, then chances are I wouldn't be able to find Stamps, Dies, Ink or Paper no matter what they did to the site.
I'll give you the argument about data but I seriously doubt that even people at PTI would agree that the website is easily navigable. The search feature is a joke there and there is too much in the store that is too disorganized.
You're also right that the DT needs to keep their links working. Guess they don't care either.
Type in designer paper, pattern paper, and you won't see the pattern packs. For the love of god, it is IS pattern paper. This is only one of dozens of things I could list.
I don't know about fading away but PTI certainly isn't the place it used to be. They can't be. MANY long-time customers have spoken openly about how they have abandoned PTI. There isn't anywhere near the chatter about releases as there used to be on their forum or others.
I think it's an unavoidable development really. They've had problems for years and never do anything to correct them. But it's not awful and doesn't have to be their demise. They burned bright for a little while and now they're just another stamp company. But they can keep plugging along and do what they're doing and probably be around for a long time.
It just isn't the same and unless there's a huge change it never will be. But I don't think it really matters - they must be happy with what they're doing because no matter what... they never make the effort to change.
I believe they felt infallible and were too stubborn to admit that they needed to change. When people feel infallible they begin to think that they are the only ones that know anything and can become immovable. In this case, I believe Julie set the tone for this company and Nichole followed along. It really is sad when a company this good gets knocked off their pedestal when it did not have to go down this way at all. I believe Nichole was a victim of Murphy's law and now has lost her reputation and integrity and people won't trust her no matter where she goes.
We are not, we are taking about PTI's horrible website and about watching downtown Abby while stamping...btw which I have never watched or know anything about.
Um, PTI controls its DT through its contract. They scare the bejeesus out of the DT with the "say anything about us ever and we'll sue you language." How about requiring Nichole and the DT to maintain current links to the wonderfully designed website. Rick, good try but no cigar.
And while you are at it, please defend PTI's behavior before the release of the new website. Remember all the loyal customers PTI asked to review and comment on the website. We had to sign the same confidentiality agreement. Some of us spent dozens and dozens of hours documenting in writing for PTI the problems with the website. Not only did we get NO response -- not a thank you or an acknowledgment from the queens that run this place, PTI did not even address the issues we identified. Just boom went ahead with the release.
Wonder if the wonderkid who pulled off that website designed the obamacare one. Back to you Rick. I mean Carol
FIRST!
ReplyDeleteoh goodness, i just saw the sentiment that starts off with "i heard you have another chemo treatment coming soon...". no, just no.
ReplyDeleteI heard you got a staph infection while in the hospital and the incision is pretty nasty.
ReplyDeleteI heard they took your ovaries with your uterus.
I heard you are infertile thanks to his low count.
LOL! Last night I told my husband about their "cancer diagnosis" stamp faux pas and he came up with quite a few like yours, 10:20. Such terrible bad taste. Tacky, tacky, tacky.

I just got to the first "reveal" image on Nichole's blog and already PTI is annoying me.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't they include the word "happy" in the same three fonts as the occasions?
The openings in the o, a, g and s in "congrats" are all too small for the pattern on the word to be done in polka dots. Hard to read and looks stupid.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. I saw the comment here about chemo treatment and I thought they were kidding. They really made that sentiment stamp.
ReplyDeleteIf I hadn't thought PTI jumped the shark a long time ago, this would be it.

ReplyDeleteSorry for your bad CS.
DeleteI don't want a sale because I am not planning to order but it is the principle. I can't believe how things still have not changed with this company.
DeleteYep. It looks like that sale has sailed :( . They just can't be counted on to keep up their end or be responsive to customers in any way.
DeleteI bet you can find something similar somewhere else at the same or better price.
Whatever did happen to this "boutique" business anyway?? Must have been too much work for them.
Anyone else remember the days when you studied every post leading up to a release to spot new products that weren't always mentioned but were really snuck in to the samples?
ReplyDeleteAnd then seeing the release - finally - and making your list, adding it up, can I get more, do I have to leave something out, so much to choose from.... ???? Wow, it's like it was an entirely different company back then. It WAS exciting.
Nichole really needs to change that opening paragraph for release day. The bloom is off the rose, lady.
Refund Refusal Land - LOOOOOLLLLLL!
ReplyDeleteIs Refund Refusal Land located right next to the Island of Misfit Impression Plates?
ReplyDelete:D
Delete11:04 How do you know they don't?
DeleteHow do I know who doesn't what? I don't understand the question.
DeleteI'm guessing you mean there are some people who still look at it that way.
ReplyDeleteI finally placed my finger on what bugs me about those sentiments: for many people, myself included, medical diagnoses are private, personal information.
DeleteI have known many women with the diagnosis of breast cancer.
DeleteI think Nichole is so busy with her new stamp company that she just doesn't have the time to spare for PTI any more. Quite the shame, but I do look forward to her new venture!
ReplyDeleteNice try 3:46. There is no new company.
ReplyDeleteYeah, 3:46, I think 3:54 has your number. Name names or don't bother.
ReplyDeleteNow. . . . theoretically, it would be the best thing she could do if she wanted to stay in this business.
ReplyDeleteBesides, the stamps would still be full of grammatical and punctuation errors.
I think we don't see any new paper colors because they don't make much money on cardstock and it costs them a fortune to ship. My 2 cent,s anyway...
ReplyDeleteAlpha dies? Put the money toward a cameo and then you have a thousand fonts in a thousand sizes and PTI doesn't get your $.
ReplyDeleteCardstock? I think they don't make much as the other poster said.
This release, imo, is the worst they have ever had.
Nichole? She has lost her celebrity and has just become a greedy B and I doubt she could even get a following. Not to mention her creativity is completely down the tubes.
I had breast reduction years ago... why don't they start doing "hope you're doing well after your boob job!" stamps? Or maybe "hope your vasectomy heals quickly and you're back up again soon!"
ReplyDeleteRe: chemo stamps. Some people just don't have tact or insight. Can also go along with low intelligence.
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there, 7:34...
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Betsy's first card today looks like Dawn threw up on it.
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry, Betsy, but the last one . . . . it really is the least.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, even though it was a boring release, there were some cool cards today. I especially liked the balloon one with the stamping on the background and on the diecut.
ReplyDeleteBart didn't divorce his second wife. She died. That's really sad. Here's the obit.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.jocohistory.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/obit/id/92138/rec/15
All you peeps who thought he divorced her should be ashamed. Not sure about his first wife, Laura, though. She's still alive so I guess he did divorce her. If anyone has info, feel free to post it here.
Bart aka hottie hubs
ReplyDeleteDoes Dawn know about Lucretia and Laura?
ReplyDeleteWho is the best PTI stamper?
ReplyDeleteWho is Lucretia?
ReplyDeleteIf Nichole posts that stupid "time of the month" paragraph one more time, I'm going to scream. No wait, on second thought, I'll just send her a tampon.
ReplyDeleteTake away Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, Raspberry Fizz and Pure Poppy and Dawn wouldn't know what to do! Does she realize that there are other colors out there?
ReplyDeleteI love Nichole's house. Why hasn't she updated her blog for almost 18 months?
ReplyDeleteWhy do people make cards with crap hanging over the edge? How the fuck can you fit that into an envelope? It's just stupid.
ReplyDelete^^^ There is a make it Monday video about that...not kidding. Made by Dawn lol
ReplyDeleteYou're probably right about the cardstock. Plus now there are lots of companies that have their own coordinating cardstock, ink, etc. Their whole mess with the ink - repeatedly - did more damage that it seemed. If you are all matchy-matchy, and the company can't provide the ink part of the equation, then you are out of luck.
ReplyDeleteSo not one post here about what people bought? Where did all the unis go? I guess they are too busy posting on DTs blogs trying to win prizes! Or maybe this is finally the indefensible release.
Another one knocked out of the park as far as I am concerned.
ReplyDeleteBuy away, 11:33. There should be plenty of inventory.
ReplyDelete"Out of the park?" Yeah, that's a uni. I mean, sure, I can see someone finding a couple of useful items in this release. But "out of the park?"
ReplyDeleteJust read the posts by the person who wrote to Julie and Julie's response.
ReplyDeleteProvide the link if you're going to talk about it on a new thread. It's called courtesy. I really dislike the posters who say 'it's on SCS' or 'find it yourself' when someone asked for a link.
ReplyDeleteLink to Rachel on SCS:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/general-stamping-talk-f17/sharing-experience%3B-crafters-must-aware-t580561.html
"Out of the park" just makes me laugh. This was the dumbest PTI release EVER!
ReplyDelete12:31 - there is only one person who really knows if she returned a used one. I suspect you may be right - it's quite the coincidence if she was trying to sell a used one and then happens to replace it "accidentally." Hmmm. If she was trying to sell hers recently that is not a likely mistake on her part. I have to say I am very skeptical of her claim.
ReplyDeleteI still think it was stupid of Julie to take the bait.
Agree, 2:38.
ReplyDeleteWhat continues to tick me off about Rachel's tirade is that she is one herself who knew way before now that PTI's CS was bad, yet she continued to drink the kool aid. But now, because it happened to HER, she's on a crusade to bury them. JUST. SHUT. UP. ALREADY! I wish so bad you could comment anonymously on SCS!
ReplyDeleteWhat 4:45 said.
ReplyDeleteI was ready to think the worst of PTI myself when I first read her story.
I have heavily used plates and cannot tell them from the seldom used plates.
ReplyDeleteI have read on some blogs that last night's ordering was a mess. Can anyone confirm that?
Not every poster knows about or follows SCS. Or knows what GS is.
ReplyDeleteI need a huge batch of reinkers from A Muse. Anyone know a consultant who has a sale or discount?
ReplyDeletewhat is GS?? Oh and I think that Nichole is bailing on PTI. Lawyers, dissolution, it's coming! I feel it in the air. Do I have any inside news? No.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about PTI's order volume. For those still ordering, how many order #'s are between your last 2 orders and what time frame is it? I remember there used to be thousands of orders between my monthly orders. I haven't ordered since early spring so I'm wondering about their more recent sales activity. The forums are dead so I wonder if sales are too??
ReplyDeleteI want to use up some long earned reward points. So I went back and looked through old sets, by image. You know, the depth of their stamps is really huge. It really is impressive. And there are some really great sets. The problem is so many new things are released monthly that the old sets get buried in the crap. And unfortunately lately there's a lot of crap.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking to myself; winter holidays are coming, they should be revisiting LOTS of their holiday stamps from before. Not just the 1st of the month. But they don't. Stupid on their part.
Lots of sets for sale on the forum. I just bought 8 sets from one person. Prices seem to be lower too.
ReplyDelete5:56 Read the release chatter thread. Seems only 2 people had issues at checkout but they were resolved.
ReplyDeleteThen why do several blogs say it was a mess?
ReplyDeleteI'd love them to do a bi-monthly, no, quarterly release if it gave them more time to concentrate on good, fresh stamp designs.
ReplyDelete^^^^ yes! me too. And other companies too. There are just too many releases these days.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think they need to be more choosy about which stamp sets make it to production.
ReplyDeleteI honestly could not believe the level of pathetic when I saw that dance step thing they call a set.
ReplyDeleteHere is the message that has just been posted:

I interpret the second part of that sentence "the more you have to hide" to mean the customer is lying or hiding something. i.e. the louder a customer screams the more she seems to think they are not being truthful.
---End Quote---
I interpreted it to mean the same thing, that if someone (in this case, ME) is screaming loudly, it's because they have something to hide. Add that to the fact that Papertrey has had countless other complaints against them over the course of many years, and it starts to seem pretty outrageous for her to a
ccuse the complainer of being the one who has something to hide.
ReplyDeleteAnd someone should post on Splitcoaststampers to Rachel and ask her about having tried to sell her old plate on the PTI forum.
"...suffering from some kind of fully delusional mental disorder... "
ReplyDeleteA bit extreme.
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
ReplyDeleteOh, I guess I misread something on that. Hmm... I'm still a little curious if the dates line up -- when the order was placed, when she put it up on the forum, when she took it down, etc. But not curious enough to investigate it, lol!
ReplyDeleteBottom line is that PTI CS has issues and I think Rachel has some issues too.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried the mama elephant inks? Or the mft inks?
ReplyDeleteBart didn't divorce his second wife. She died. That's really sad. Here's the obit.

Preposterous! That's a fun word!
ReplyDeletegreat job nonblog owner. great job.
ReplyDeletenow, Rick, could you please explain why the links from the DT's blogs that go to the PTI webstore go to dead links.
examples?
ReplyDelete"Carol" dawn's blog has a list of her stamp sets that link to not her stamp sets
ReplyDeleteI think those bad links are just another example of how they don't even care about the website/store anymore.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever click on some of the links in Nichole's sidebar?
ReplyDeletetotally agree on the dead links.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I felt about the dance set too. Boring and plain but at least it was something different.
ReplyDeleteI think it's hard to come up with really new things all the time. They should just revisit the previously released sets. There's a lot there.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't they revisit the older sets AND offer a discount on them at the same time? That would be better than their stupid annual 6% off "sale".
ReplyDeleteI tried both MFT and ME inks. MFT inks are really juicy, almost too juicy? They also stained my clear stamps. :( ME inks have a chalky, smooth finish. Between them, I would definitely choose ME inks and hope to add more to my collection. I like Memento Luxe inks too.
ReplyDeleteI heard the Memento Luxe inks stain clear stamps, too. Do they?
ReplyDeleteOkay, as soon as I hit publish, I'll probably figure this out - but what are ME inks?
ReplyDeleteAHA! Took a few minutes... Mama Elephant?!?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't invest in inks with a new company like that.
I wonder if their inks are made by the same place as Impress and Amuse because the pads/cases look the same.
ReplyDeleteYes, Mama Elephant inks are pretty much the same as Impress. I'm not sure about AMuse as I've never ordered from them. I agree there have been so many new companies, but ME seems to be on the right path to success, even Studio Calico is working with them.
ReplyDeleteI really like Mama Elephant. They have fresh, fun designs and I LOVE their Bootastic stamp set. Adorable, great sentiments, and fun to color! I hope they stick around for a long, long time.
ReplyDeleteA Muse and Impress are made by the same mftr, in the same case, same formula. Colors are slightly different. A Muse reinkers are half the size as Impress ones.,
ReplyDeleteME has SOME cute stamps but not everything is fresh. I don't like to color so maybe that's why...but either way I think some of their images are not do well coordinated whitin their sets, like they don't go together.
ReplyDeleteI know this is OT, but figured someone here would know. I missed all of Downton Abbey, all 3 seasons. It is not on Netflix. Is there any way, short of spending hundreds to buy the DVD that I can watch it somewhere?
ReplyDeleteSeason 1 used to be on Netflix streaming but they have pulled it and it is now only available streaming on Amazon Prime.
DeleteI think it is available on Hulu also. That is like $5 a month or something. I watch on my iPad, iPhone, Apple TV and on the computer.
DeleteI watched all of Downton Abbey this summer by checking the DVDs out from my local library. Free!
DeleteI watched them on my Kindle with the Prime subscription. While stamping cards using Impress inks. (there it is on topic!j
ReplyDeleteThe DVDs are not that expensive. Sometimes they are even on sale at places like Target, or if you have a membership at someplace like Barnes and Noble you don't pay full price. You could also try your library or ask a friend if they have them. Or go in on them with a friend.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure about Netflix? I could swear season 1 was on there! Maybe they pulled it though... it's been a long time since I looked. I'm one who has wanted to get caught up with all of the seasons so I can join in the hype, but who has time?
ReplyDeleteThanks, all! I decided to just order the DVD's--got all 3 seasons for $60 and then I can get my Mom hooked on them too.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat with this one -- bought the first couple of seasons and still haven't had a chance to watch them!
ReplyDeletePTI has nothing to do with the links on the DT blogs.
ReplyDeleteI'll give you the argument about data but I seriously doubt that even people at PTI would agree that the website is easily navigable. The search feature is a joke there and there is too much in the store that is too disorganized.
ReplyDeleteYou're also right that the DT needs to keep their links working. Guess they don't care either.
Type in designer paper, pattern paper, and you won't see the pattern packs. For the love of god, it is IS pattern paper. This is only one of dozens of things I could list.
ReplyDeleteType in tag. Nope no single tag die, the one with the dots around the edge.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about fading away but PTI certainly isn't the place it used to be. They can't be. MANY long-time customers have spoken openly about how they have abandoned PTI. There isn't anywhere near the chatter about releases as there used to be on their forum or others.
ReplyDeleteI think it's an unavoidable development really.
ReplyDelete11:00 Where is Nichole going?
ReplyDeleteI really dislike the website, it's never shows compete results when you type in a tag. It's sucks!
ReplyDeleteIt's probably cause I can't spell either lol *complete not compete!
DeleteWe are not, we are taking about PTI's horrible website and about watching downtown Abby while stamping...btw which I have never watched or know anything about.
ReplyDeleteFor the person looking for Downton Abbey Season 3. http://www.watch-tvseries.net/series60/Downton-Abbey/season-03-episode-01-Episode-1
ReplyDeleteYou can even watch Season 4.
Um, PTI controls its DT through its contract. They scare the bejeesus out of the DT with the "say anything about us ever and we'll sue you language." How about requiring Nichole and the DT to maintain current links to the wonderfully designed website. Rick, good try but no cigar.
ReplyDeleteAnd while you are at it, please defend PTI's behavior before the release of the new website.
They scare the bejeesus out of the DT with the "say anything about us ever and we'll sue you language."
ReplyDeleteCan you provide the language in particular that they use? Or are you just guessing about this?
