  4. Thanks so much for sharing these! ^^^^

    ReplyDelete
  5. Wow, really thanks! Are these sales held every year or is business bad these days? Not snarky, just pretty much surprised question.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Verve is almost always having a sale, it's just the way they run their business. I think all the rest are pretty standard year-end, inventory-reduction sales.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I was hoping Lil Inker, Lawn Fawn, and Crafty Secrets would have year end prices.

    ReplyDelete
  8. www.awdml.com carries Lawn Fawn. :) And I think their sale is just pre-inventory and pre-CHA. At least that's what the email I got said.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Not impressed with awdml at all... talk about old, tired inventory. And the website is too busy and cluttered.

    ReplyDelete
  10. old and tired. old and tired. old and tired. monkeys are young and energetic!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wouldn't you rather talk about Impress Inks than monkeys?

    ReplyDelete
  12. if i want to talk about impress inks i'll go to splitcoast. for here monkeys rule baby! but thanks for asking. remember all that smack blog free speech shit? well here we are exercising our monkey rights!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Impress Inks are 20
    % off.

  14. I'm old school and loyal to my ColorBox inks. After hearing so much about Impress' Fresh Ink, though, I broke down and ordered several colors. Which didn't impress me much at first, to be honest.

I really fell in love with the ink after using my slate colored pad regularly. The color is great - a dark black/blue based grey, but what I really love is the coverage and the fast drying time. The ink dries into nice matte finish like ColorBox chalk ink but takes about a third of the time to dry.

I started using my other Impress colors more and they've quickly become my go-to inks. I still use my ColorBox inks because I love the range of colors available, but I definitely have come around on the Fresh Ink.

A side note: I have spent 15 years trying to find the perfect true red ink, and I just don't think ColorBox's Scarlet can be beaten. I don't like Impress' red inks. They all seem really washed out to me.

My favorite white ink is Wplus9's white. ColorBox's frost white is a close second.

The best black ink, imo, is Versafine.

    ReplyDelete
  15. If you like Impress Ink, add some A Muse ink to your collection. They are identical but all are different colors than the Impress. Impress and A Muse together make the most complete collection ever.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wplus9's white ink is the one I prefer also, however, the pad is very juicy and I can over tamp the stamp on the pad. For black it is versafine every time.

    ReplyDelete
  17. How does the WPlus 9 white compare to PTI white?

    ReplyDelete
  18. ^^^ PTI white is better.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I am still wishing for a white gel pen, marker or whatever. One that lasts more than 10 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I like the PTI white pad a lot too. I use Unigel Signa White pens. Keep them sealed in a Ziplock and they last for a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  21. you can get all PTI at a discount here.

    ReplyDelete
  22. don;t click on that link!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. What link?? And why not??

  24. My tree is down and stuffed back into the corner of the basement. Now, if people would kindly STOP pinning Christmas stuff on Pinterest, I'd be fairly content.

Why do you have to go off on her?
    SMH

  33. 5:36 -- really? you want an actual answer? because this is a smack blog. we post anonymously. this blog was about PTI for about 5 minutes. after that it was about each of us thinking we are more clever than the last poster. if you want real answers to real questions ask someone who is willing to sign her name. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  34. If you think you like A muse and Impress inks, you should try Memento Luxe. The best of them!

I don't get people who come here all irritated... oh this place is dead... oh why do people bother to come here... really - if you don't want to participate in the conversation, then why bother? The real problem is those who come here just to complain that this place even exists. Bizarre behavior.

    ReplyDelete
  35. And if you have not noticed, this blog doesn't have anything about PTI in the title. It's for smacking in general from a stamping viewpoint vs. scrapping -- because that was kind of covered by the wackos over at Smack Center.

And I think the whole point of being able to comment anonymously is so you can be honest about your opinions. Yes, there will always be the crazies that like to mess with people, start fights and rumors, and try to ruin it for everyone else. Oh well. We just have to skip past all of that. It is not really that hard to see through the nonsense.

Things are quiet now because people are involved with family and the holidays - which is great. I'm surprised I even had a few minutes to stop by to see what any chatter is about and it looks like things are still in the quiet of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm stopping in after visiting Nichole's blog --- because I totally forgot what was in the last release, lol! --- and I'm surprised no one here has already commented on the last blog hop, where Leigh has ELEVEN entries that all look the same! HAHA - ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't get why some people jump all over other posters like 1:36 pm. We can talk about PTI as well as have other conversations here - except for the monkey crap.

    I asked a rhetorical question, 6:20 pm.

Posters like 6:20 pm need to take their meds and chill. What kind of justification for bitchy behavior is "because this is a smack blog. we post anonymously"?

    ReplyDelete
  38. sorry. smack blogs discuss me by name. i'm just giving back. i admit that i'm a bitter. just think of it from my side. i'll go now. i'm not being nice and am ashamed. smack away. but think about it please

    ReplyDelete
  39. Like I believe that you are anyone but anonymous

    ReplyDelete
  40. 5:54 So are you going to be bitter for the rest of your life? What a waste. Better to forget and move on. You are only hurting yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yes, she had 11 entries of the 12 projects on her blog. They were all the same. But, there are no rules with the PTI blog hop that she can't do that so more power to her. And she didn't win, anyway, so what good did 11 entries to her? None.

    ReplyDelete
  42. OK, have to admit I have seen this "Leigh" and her multiple-entries mentioned before but have never taken the time to see what the fuss was about. Just did, and that is just utterly ridiculous. I had always thought that Leigh was someone of substance, but can't really say why I thought that way...guess I thought she was one of the more high-falutin' designers out there, but honestly she should be ashamed and embarrassed. That's just a blatant disrespect for the contest, and for the other entrants who have more class than that.

    ReplyDelete
  43. And furthermore, if I were the one "randomly" choosing the winners you can bet her number wouldn't come up!

    ReplyDelete
  44. If and I am saying IF she entered those all individually (the tags on the red napkins) then she is beyond shameless. I can make the same card and lay a different word on the top of each and enter 10000 and then scream when I don't win?.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yep, I just looked. 95 total entries and her 11 are almost identical to one another. I am glad to see that all 3 winners were not her. I am sure PTI must have drawn one of hers, based on the odds, and wisely, very wisely tossed that one back. She does this every month and hasn't won for awhile. Doesn't she get the message?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Totally with 9:24.

And I know some people have defended Leigh in the past here -- she takes the time to do it and they have no rules so she's just so so smart to enter so many times. But I agree with the others posting above. That is not the point of the blog hop or contest. I think it would be smart for PTI to say one share/entry per person. The point is to inspire and share -- if you're inspired to make more, then make more. People will (I suppose because isn't that the point?) visit your blog and if you have more for them to look at that's great. But this is just greediness.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I would even be happy if they would say your entries had to be dissimilar if you enter more than once.

      Delete
  47. And there isn't even anyone coming to her rescue here!

    ReplyDelete
  48. How could anyone defend such blatant greediness/almost cheating public behavior? Tacky, tacky, tacky.

    ReplyDelete
  49. How hard is it to tell her to not do that?

    ReplyDelete
  50. It appears that they don't want to offend their cheerleader.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Those entries were slightly different - the colored images as well as the names. But this was a blatant stacking of the deck this time.
I would not mind if she created and entered substantially unique entries. JMO

    ReplyDelete
  52. Forgot to add ... it is a random draw.
Definitely not worth getting your knickers in a knot.
    JMO again.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm with you, 12:15... I wouldn't have a problem if she would create unique individual entries. Isn't she super church-y too? Isn't cheating against the rules at church?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Does A Muse ever have a sale? I need some of their ink, but no way at full price.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I follow many of the different stamp companies and look at lots of blogs. IMHO the new releases for this holiday season were pretty boring. In fact, other than a couple of snowmen, nothing has really impressed me. I think a lot of the holidays stamps for 2012 were more interesting. It's also possible that I have too many stamps for much to be "new" this year. Anyway, did any of you find "must have" holiday stamps this year?

    ReplyDelete
  56. 12:45 A bit judgemental aren't you?

  57. 3:03 pm - I have so very many Christmas and winter sets that I don't buy many any more, but did get a few items:

From PTI - Evergreen die (looked great in felt on gift tags), Confetti Garland dies, Two Feet Deep.

From MFT Cheerful Christmas Greetings (free), Sophisticated Snowflakes, and a couple of the Laina Lamb scrapbooking-type sets. I don't scrap...yet...but youngest is getting married in a few months and our son and his wife are getting baby fever really badly. So I figured I'd better get some practice before the grandkids actually show up. Then maybe I won't be so far behind!

  58. To the person who asked about Amuse. They are having a sale through midnight tonight (12/31/13). Use code KIEI58UB (those are capital/uppercase i's and not the number one) to get 20% off. I go through Melissa Roell's blog. (And no, I'm not Melissa. I found Melissa through a google search. She makes a lot of sample cards on her blog. In the past, I've ordered from another Amuse rep (who is also a PTI forum member) was not pleased with her service.)

    ReplyDelete
  59. 5:11- how exactly does that make me judgmental? It is an honest question.

    ReplyDelete
  60. calling someone judgmental is silly. every statement is a judgment. don't take the bait honey. and while you are at it, don't come on line and criticize another stamper by name. it frosts me. yeah i'm judgmental and proud of it. SHOUT IT LOUD MONKEY LOVERS UNITE IN 2014. let's take down this "not" blog in 2014. oh and see the coffee cup lucy

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks, 10:30. I tried to place a $200 order with her but the code would not work no matter what.

    ReplyDelete
  62. It is why A Muse is not doing much business. I have tried for the last 6 months to find a decent demo. They either don't respond, don't let me know about sales (like this one for instance) and don't respond to emails in a timely manner. I wish I had NEVER bought all their inks as now I cannot get paper, etc.to go with them.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I worked for A muse and I did my best to keep my customers informed and took good care of them. It's a shame that people are having a hard time finding someone to do that for them. I've heard it from a lot of people. Maybe potential customers are somehow getting in touch with hobbyists who aren't really interested in the business side of things.

I had a lot of issues with the company (and the whole catalog stamping model in general), so I am not trying to drum up any business for them -- but I would suggest to anyone trying to get a good consultant to contact the company, explain that you haven't had much luck finding someone you can count on, and asking them to refer you to someone. Believe me, their numbers can't be that big - I think a year ago there were only around 250 consultants nationwide. Linda and the HQ team KNOW who the good ones are (I think they kind of help them and cater to them anyway).

Then again, a lot of the good ones are good because they have an in-person base and maybe don't want to deal with online/distant orders. One-on-one gives them a better chance (they think, I think) to build their business. Online can actually be a bit harder to do.

I can recommend Christine Franco if she's still with them. I knew her when she was with TAC and she stays on top of things and will work with people long distance.

  64. ISO of a lavender monkey themed patterned paper. please provide links.

    ReplyDelete
  65. sorry I found violet monkey themed paper but no lavender.

  66. Whoever said the PTI white is better than Wplus9 is wrong. The Wp9 pad is way better. Stamps whiter, bigger ink pad, dries faster, doesn't clump.

RE: Leigh, I think it's distasteful that she does the multiple entries (even though PTI does not specifically have rules on this). I also cringe when I see her enter her daughter's cards. That said, she has posted some things on the the PTI forum that make me feel sorry for her, so the contest things don't bother me too much.

    ReplyDelete
  67. ^^^^ When I posted that PTI white was better I thought you meant cardstock. I agree, the WPlus9 white ink pad is much better. The best I've ever used, in fact.

    ReplyDelete
  68. What, like her creations are so ugly you feel sorry for her, or her life is hard so you feel sorry for her? Having a hard life doesn't mean it's OK to take advantage of others, which is what she's doing by entering so many times in an effort to increase her odds. Again, recognizing that PTI doesn't have any rules about this, but it lacks a whole lot of tact and class.

    ReplyDelete
  69. No offense 11:23, but I ain't taking tact and class advice from you;)

Besides, who cares what Leigh does? It's trivial. Is it tacky? Sure! I see a dozen tacky things on FB and on blogs every day. The bad business practices of PTI are the real issue here.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What the hell is that supposed to mean? Because I have respect for the parameters of a contest and respect for the others who enter and don't flood the entries with my own pathetic attempts AND I choose to call someone out who does, you take that to mean I don't have any class? "No offense" but you can kiss my ass! And I see NOTHING about the business practice of PTI on this blog. It's called Stamp Smackers, NOT PTI Smackers!

  70. Archivers gasping it's last breath. Will be closing all stores.

    ReplyDelete
  71. ^^^ I am sad. It was a nice place to actually see things, put your hands on products.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Who was the first company to come out with clear stamps?

I feel Hobby Lobby is nearing the end. As it loses lawsuits I think it will fold too.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Yes, if forced to by the unconstitutional behavior of a tyrannical administration, Hobby Lobby may have to close. I hope not because it speaks volumes about the socialist direction our nation has taken under the current abominable presidency.

    I hope Hobby Lobby triumphs.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Requesting that the above post be removed.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Why? Hobby Lobby isn't close enough to the topic of stamping for you?

    Jeesh. Tolerant much?

I hope this is the last we hear of stamp-related stores closing this year. Sad to see Archivers go.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I DO wish they were tolerant of the private lives of their employees. Unfortunately they feel the right to limit employees access to reproductive freedom instead of letting employees decide for themselves or not if they want birth control. Imagine if my employer did not believe in unwed pregnancy and would not pay medical on my child's birth. No different at all.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I am Christian Science and I own a large chain of stores. I don't want my employees to have medical insurance through me that would pay for their child's pneumonia or their strep throat antibiotics because I don't believe in antibiotics and I have a right to not pay for that medical insurance to cover that. I completely understand where they are coming from.

    ReplyDelete
  78. oh goodie let's talk religion and which smacker has class. love the kiss my ass comment from someone defending how classy she is.

ONLY here friends ONLY here. PTI buying out 2 stamp companies this year. You heard it here first!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. 7:15 - the biggest issue here that so many of you overlook is that BIRTH CONTROL IS NOT HEALTH CARE.

I completely agree with you - everyone should butt out of your private life and personal decisions.

The first freedom is religious freedom and paying for someone's abortion or birth control violates the owners' religious beliefs. When government starts telling us that we cannot live by our religious beliefs, then it becomes a dictatorship.

No one says you can't make those decisions for yourself. It's just that no one else should feel obligated to pay for them.

If the owners of the company you work for are opposed to unwed pregnancy on religious grounds and choose to not cover your maternity bills, you should know what your benefits are and be prepared to have to pay for that yourself. No one is telling you not to get pregnant if you're not married - but if that's who you choose to work for, then yes, you'd just have to pay for it yourself.

This isn't about employees' personal decisions, it's about taking personal responsibility and having to pay your own way for some of your choices. You also have the choice to go work for someone else.

They are called BENEFITS, not employer obligations.

    ReplyDelete
  80. OK, my beliefs won't pay for your vasectomy. I don't believe in organ transplants either due to being Jehovah's witness. I guess each time I apply for a job I have to get a list of all the doctrines of the current owner. What if owner's change? Ooops, my hysterectomy now is not covered. I don't think people should smoke so my employee's will get no health care for lung cancer. I don't think people should drink. My employees are on their own when their liver acts up. I don't believe in in vitro fertilization so just be childless. I don't believe in breast reconstruction so if you get cancer you are out of luck if you work for me. Can you imagine the chaos? Thank GOD Obama won't let any of that happen.. Romney would have supported Hobby Lobby due to his church affiliation.

    ReplyDelete
  81. For 7:15 pm - It's a bit more cut and dried than your comment indicates. Hobby Lobby does indeed already provide contraceptive coverage to employees - 16 of the 20 contraceptives required by Obamacare, at no additional cost to the employee. Hobby Lobby does not want to be forced to pay for the ending of a pregnancy after conception, such as the morning after pill or the week after pill.

Lots of people are jumping to conclusions without having all the facts. It's easy for those being interviewed in the media, who are trying to spread a certain viewpoint, to just repeat the mantra that HL is against reproductive rights for women. The facts of the matter are quite different.

And I do buy crafting supplies there, so I hope they don't close. There. Stamping related.

    ReplyDelete
  82. And to change the subject a bit - anyone else looking at the new MFT stuff? I'm liking it, but was shocked at the new Lisa Johnson ticket die set - almost $40 for just the dies!

    ReplyDelete
  83. You need to educate yourself. It takes about 7-10 for a pregnancy to occur after fertilization. It is not pregnancy until there is complete implantation. NONE of those methods are "abortion".. So are they going to pay for their raped employees child support for 18 years? Wouldn't that be the Christian thing to do after forcing a woman to either quit her job and get another or go without?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Those high die prices are outrageous. People must have pretty full pockets after Xmas to even consider those.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Except that 9:40 doesn't have the facts correct. It IS Health Care. Do you say vitamins are not health care? Planned births are many times healthier for a woman's body than those that occur at times when a woman's body and lifestyle and choices are not good. A wanted pregnancy is a joy and much more likely to be healthy. An unwanted pregnancy is extremely stressful. Not to mention every darn month thinking you might be pregnant. A woman who plans a pregnancy is much less likely to engage in behaviors/habits/chemicals/medication during the early weeks than a woman who thinks she could be pregnant all the time without relief.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Cheering for 9:40,. The voice of reason.

  88. Vitamins are usually not covered by insurance. I turned down a job because they didn't offer disability insurance or sick time. I am responsible for myself and my family. So I make choices based on that.

    ReplyDelete
  89. about demos. I spent over $250 with one SU demo last year and never got a single mini catalog from her. Won't buy from her again. Placed an order with another demo a few weeks ago (again SU) -- just used her online shop. Got no thank you or acknowledgment. Listen if you are going to sit there and sell a product, THANK your customer. I am so done with both of these demos, particularly the last one who did nothing except have an online store.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Yep and if you don't do your research and you qualify for a free item dont bet on them telling you. They probably smirk and keep the item as prize or something.

    ReplyDelete
  91. One more OT post: It's all about personal responsibility and here is a philosophy you hear no one talking about (if you hear it in the news or online, I'd love to know about it):

A woman's choice begins with the choice to become pregnant. If you can't deal with the 2% risk of pregnancy that comes from condom use, then don't have sexual intercourse. I really don't understand why people are acting like sex is a right and a necessity. If you can't accept the potential responsibility that comes with that physical behavior, then don't engage in it. Whose "fault" is it that you became pregnant? I mean, that's the norm these days, right? You have to be able to blame someone else for your "problems." If you choose to engage in behavior which may cause pregnancy, then you must be prepared to deal with the consequences. I personally don't care if you have sex or not - it's none of my business. And none of it is any business of the government either.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Back on topic.

Lousy demos and consultants will be the death of catalog companies. I hear this everywhere now and I just don't get it. Are people just getting linked up with hobbyists? Shouldn't they at least be up front about that? Hell, if I were a hobby demo/consultant, I would have a standard email to send out every time I got an order: Hey, thanks for your order but I'm a hobbyist and I won't be following up or doing anything for you. I'd just as soon not have to send this email either, so next time please find someone else.

Lol - a little bit, but why not?

SU must have thousands of demos and the bad ones probably won't cost them enough to make them care. But a smaller company like Amuse? They won't survive it.

I don't know how customers "get" the bad ones, but something should be put in place to keep it from happening with online orders.
