I've been wondering for a while what is up with WPlus9. They've had a new release/4th anniversary going on for 3 weeks, and 4 of the 7 listed DT members haven't posted from it. Another has only posted a couple of cards from the release. The Hannah Loves Paper blog has 2 cards showing, and her sidebar lists that she designs for WPlus9, but WPlus9 doesn't list her in the Our Design Team tab. Same for Sarah Martina - her blog says she designs for WPlus9, but she isn't listed on their page.
I realize that one team member evidently had a baby and hasn't posted since November, another mentioned family issues. But one of the team who has posted the most has a month-old baby.
It just seems strange, kind of like the DT is bailing out on them. It's gotta be the lowest-key release/anniversary celebration I've ever seen.
Performing monkeys are a common feature of life in many Pakistani cities where they can be seen doing tricks and entertaining people while dressed up in sparkly outfits and clothes.
For Pakistanis who raise and train the monkeys they are an important source of income in an impoverished country, and they form a strong bond with the animals. The monkeys are usually captured in the wild when they are babies and then trained. A trained monkey can fetch 20,000 to 30,000 rupees ($190 to $285).
One such trainer Ataullah Niazi, 46, owns three monkeys that he says he loves like they are his own children. His monkey can make around 500 rupees (about $5) a day, which helps him feed his family of eight. He's been doing this type of work since he was 11 years old.
It takes at least three months to train a monkey to dance, salute, shake hands, and perform the other tricks needed, said Niazi. Usually the owners go to the northwestern Swat Valley or the town of Murree, outside of Islamabad, to find the babies.
But animal rights activists criticize the practice of training monkeys to perform.
"This is a sheer violation of wildlife laws," said Atif Yaqub, an official at the Pakistan Wildlife Foundation. He said the monkeys are often abused by trainers who beat them with a stick during their training and put a rope around their neck so they don't run away.
I have a lot of respect for Wplus9 as I've had several issues that they dealt with fast and no questions asked, but their release going on this month strikes me really odd too. I don't get why they have only featured a couple of the stamp sets and dies. I don't get the DT either as a few of them are always late with postings on other releases too. With only a week left in the month it seems odd that they haven't even touched the other sets/dies that are out. I was seriously thinking of that wreath die but I kind of want to see it in action first. I hope everything is okay on the business end as they are great with CS.
The Wplus9 release is probably the strangest thing I've seen in papercrafting in a while. It's just really bizarre the way it's being handled. I do hope all is well with Dawn because I have had great experiences with her. Seems like she should have explained a bit how and why things will be handled this anniversary release.
I'm 2/21 10:43 am - for 2:52, I did mention that two of the DT had had recent births, but one of them posted in mid-November that the baby was three months old. I would think on a small DT, when two of seven have new babies, the others would step up to cover the slack.
For 3:18 - this release has been going on for over THREE WEEKS. How could late mail delivery be the excuse for such a long absence of release posts?
3:48 I haven't really been keeping up with the release that closely. I check the blog daily and it hasn't wowed me so I just go on to something else. A late package wouldn't be the reason then.
I'd say get the Memento Luxe inks, I love them. I have all the colors except cocoa and black and white. They are very versatile too. Joann's is a good price right now but not sure they have all the colors. I got mine from Oozak.com as they have them all and super fast shipping.
The entire DT is not having a baby so that seems like a lame excuse to me. And why are they only showing some of the product?! I don't get it. There is an Easter set that hasn't been shown at all and the wreath die...may have forgotten something else as well. Just seems weird to me. Get a couple of GDT's then, but it is the strangest anniversary release I've ever seen.
everyone knows that guzman was the 4th owner of PTI. silent partner. his drug money funded the infamous first version of the inks, and pays the DT to post on the forum. where have you been???
Anyone find it more than coincidental that over and over this board will go hours (daytime hours) without a post and then all the sudden there are 3 or 4 within minutes of each other?
2:02, 2:10, 2:25, 2:46, 3:11, minutes to me. There are daytime gaps of 6-7 hours at a time followed by 5-6 posts in under an hour at time. Many time zones use this place so that doesn't explain everyone posting when they get off work or anything. Peculiar in that this happens dozens of times if you go back through the posts from even weeks and months ago. I smell fishy.
There are "down" times when there is a long time between posts. Then someone posts something and those who check back now and then, when they log on or are on their computer for something, see the post and comment on it. No big mystery.
There are days that I'm on my computer frequently - when I'm done with whatever I'm doing, I'll sometimes pop over here to see if there's anything interesting going on. I'm sure there are others who do the same.
10:12 - I'm 8:37, and I order WPlus9 from Ellen Hutson only when I'm already placing an order. Since I'm already paying shipping, might as well add something else. I never want enough from WPlus9 to get free shipping from them. And I'm a shopper who almost never pays for shipping, which is why I only occasionally order from EH. I'd rather get more goodies than pay shipping!
No, it is just someone living her life. Someone is a singular pronoun. Their is plural. They have to match or the earth will tilt even more. God help us.
It didn't make me laugh but it did make me smile! I think she's very clever - those are cute ideas for someone who does that. I'm sure there are many others who will appreciate her ingenuity and customize her ideas for their own needs.
And I admire her for being able to sew while riding in a car! I would have such motion sickness if I tried to do something like that. I get a little nauseated sewing even while sitting still, lol.
Thanks for "sharing" her post - I thought it was simply darling. She also seems like someone with a very happy attitude.
What an incredibly clever idea for the use of that basket! I'm going to add that to my Pinterest board ASAP!
What kind of unhappy, insecure person to you have to be to be critical of something like that? I too think it's a darling idea and appreciate her ingenuity!
I just figured that, since Papertrey's grammar issues are frequently the subject of discussion here, that you would be interested in further grammar discussions.
sometimes it is just so sweet to remember that life is precious. the little nits and gnats annoy us but we come home to blue skies and breeze that lifts us up. be the breeze in someone's life. be the breeze.
The point is the sewing lady is just loving HER life and it was a bitch move to pick at her. She has not inflicted bad customer service, ripped anyone off or was rude to anyone here.
Has anyone ordered during the Flourishes Gambler's/closing sale? I ordered over a week ago and still no order. I don't remember them taking so long to ship and my order still just says processing. Not sure if I should give them more time or start to bug them. Was thinking maybe they are behind with possibly so many orders...has anyone ordered and gotten it yet? How long did it take?
I ordered from Flourishes on the morning of 2/10, and got an email on 2/16 that it would be mailed on 2/18. It arrived on the 20th, with an item marked "out". I sent them an email on the 20th asking about getting credited for the out-of-stock item, and have had no response or credit. My credit card was charged the full amount of my original order, and while the credit wouldn't be much, I don't want them to close without issuing it.
I have quit ordering from going out of business sales. I have had several really bad experiences. No matter how good they were, once they are on their way out they don't have a reputation to uphold and they know no one is going to come after them for $50 hear and there.
6:04 I'm in the same boat ordered during the 50 off sale, received email about the order and nothing else ever since. I was just about to ask here when I read your post. I hope everything will be ok.
7:29- I ordered during the 50% off sale as well, early on Monday morning the 17th. I too only got an email about the order and nothing since. Good point about being more cautious of when businesses go down they may not hold up their CS anymore (if they had any). I do hope it works out for all of who ordered and they show up soon. :(

I was banned from the PTI forum. Below is an email from Rick:
Hi Ami, I changed your forum account to a newly registered user, and removed your access to the registered users group. I find that you spend quite a bit of time making disparaging remarks about PTI on other forums, and do not feel like you should be a welcome member on our forum. Although I appreciate all of our customers, I do not wish to give the impression that we need customers on the forum who do not really like PTI, or wish to harm our business or our reputation. I hope you can find a company / forum that better suits your needs, and better meets your expectations. Thanks, Rick
I was banned for posting this on 2Peas:
I think you are referring to PaperTrey Ink.
If so, why on earth would you think they would refund you any money let alone money from 2 years ago? For years they have had a well known track record for giving customers the finger. Purchasing from them is a buyer beware situation. Unfortunately this is all on you.
Ironically, this was my last post on the PTI forum:
Thank You Julie!
Just wanted to give a shout out to Julie! I had an issue with a stamp set, sent an email to customer service last weekend and got an immediate response from Julie. Even though it was a holiday weekend she took care of my issue and today everything was resolved.
I was a long time PTI customer who stopped purchasing after things got really bad (deleted emails, etc.). I've never been a PTI cheerleader or unicorn.
Having said that, I have seen you trash PTI repeatedly on several forums, Ami, and I think it's funny that you'd even want to be a member there if you dislike the company so much. I've seen you trash PTI at Two Peas, Split Coast Stampers, here and at the other blog.
I do think it was bad business on Rick's part to do and say what he did, but c'mon - you're being disingenuous by pretending that all you did was say something negative about PTI once.
I want to believe that the people at Flourishes are just overwhelmed with the sale - I hope everyone gets their orders fulfilled soon. Even going out of business, it's hard to believe that this company would just let it all go to hell. Especially if they are selling the business as she suggests (has mentioned that there is a serious buyer) - they are also selling the reputation and screwing up now could jeopardize a potential sale.
I recently had a really good experience with PTI, by the way. I'm not giving details because I still want anonymity but I'm glad I started ordering again.
Unfortunately, Ami has a track record, as well, and a huge amount of it is trashing PTI. If I owned a company, I wouldn't want to be associated with that type of person. It might not be the best business move to ban a customer, but I can certainly understand the motivation.
If you use the same identity across multiple forms of social media, then of course someone can track what you're saying about a certain company, and that company can decide whether or not they want you on the forum they own.
The internet isn't actually very anonymous, says the person who is posting anonymously.
My posts are public and I stand by everything I've said about them, all of which is true. I've also always praised their product. It's just that the company is run by 3 people who have the business sense of drain hair.
I have no problem with being banned, it's their message board.
Their tactics prove that nothing has changed with them.
Can you imagine Hero Arts singling out a customer like this? Seriously, big companies don't have the time to track individual customers and if those customers say negative things, they certainly have the class NOT to respond to it.
It's pretty bad Ami when you can't even garner support on a smack blog. Move on and let it go. I am sure you are much too important a person to mess with any of this anyway.
Ami, I am sorry to hear that you have been banned. I agree with 10:58's comment. I'd be wary too. Maybe you can order through a friend? I'd order for you if I could but I'm international. I'll be receiving my February order this May. I had it sent through a friend and well, I have to wait till she flies home here. :) I don't mind the wait since I'll be on vacay and will be back home in May. I hope all goes well with you.
Rick, you and PTI are just so small. I understand that your forum generated a huge percentage of your business and you guys feel burnt. But wow, that email is small.
i find it a little creepy that rick (doesn't he have a real job selling appliances??) is tracking forums and matching up comments with users. has PTI ever banned anyone from BUYING its products?
sorry, but PTI is playing detective and this is just another reason why I do not buy from that company. or post on its forum. shudders.
I agree with Rick's decision to ban Ami. Convince me you wouldn't do the same if someone was bashing you all over the internet and you had the power to ban that person.
I don't really think reading or hearing about a post on another board is all that labor intensive. I seriously doubt they are "detecting" and actively monitoring comments about them. But when someone is extremely vocal and saying things like the company "gives customers the finger" - well, people are going to notice that. She obviously has a reputation for smacking PTI in any forum available.
Why would any company want someone like that posting on their own forum? You can't have it both ways and there are consequences for your actions. I don't feel sorry for Ami in the least.
I do, however, agree with Ami that the two-year-refund girl was foolish to think she should get that refund, but it has nothing to do with PTI in particular. No company should give her a refund after two years.
AND... I don't think it was "small" of him to send her that email. "Small" would've been to get into a pissing match with her on the Two Peas board or somewhere else. I thought his email was appropriate. I'm sure they've been aware of her derogatory remarks in the past but she just stepped over the line this time.
I think that PTI is tracking what is said about them - by anyone - on other forums. So it cannot be surprising that Rick can identify people who comment regularly about PTI - good or bad.
I am assuming that Ami can still buy from PTI.
Who was the poster that allegedly tried to return a used impression plate as a new duplicate purchase and then stated an anti-PTI campaign?

ReplyDeleteSometimes the DT doesn't receive their supplies in time for the Wplus9 release. Dawn had mentioned that during one of the previous releases.

If someone thinks they have something worth posting here, then spell it out and stop the juvenile 'I know something you don't know' crap.
If you are going to refer to something on the forum, then cut & paste it here. Most of us don't waste time there anymore.
Basically, grow up and grow a pair - post something legible and lliterate here. SMH

ReplyDeleteWhere else can you buy wplus9 at a discount? I think I want the fresh cut florals. Not sure if they stamp nicely on the die cut image.

ReplyDelete7:36 The images stamp very nicely. I have that set and I am very pleased with it.
ReplyDeleteyou who pray must party no more.

ReplyDelete11:04 I don't like to pay for shipping either. I rarely buy enough at WPlus9 to get free shipping but I don't mind paying $2 shipping on a stamp set.

The great customer service is really appreciated!
Thanks,
Ami

Guess PTI doesn't like the truth told about their company.
I was a long time PTI customer who stopped purchasing after things got really bad (deleted emails, etc.). I've never been a PTI cheerleader or unicorn.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I have seen you trash PTI repeatedly on several forums, Ami, and I think it's funny that you'd even want to be a member there if you dislike the company so much.
ReplyDeleteI recently had a really good experience with PTI, by the way.
ReplyDeleteStalking their customers on other forums, FB, chatboards, and then using what they say to ban them at PTI is outrageous.
ReplyDeleteIf you use the same identity across multiple forms of social media, then of course someone can track what you're saying about a certain company, and that company can decide whether or not they want you on the forum they own.
ReplyDeleteThe internet isn't actually very anonymous, says the person who is posting anonymously.
My posts are public and I stand by everything I've said about them, all of which is true. I've also always praised their product. It's just that the company is run by 3 people who have the business sense of drain hair.
ReplyDeleteI have no problem with being banned, it's their message board.
Their tactics prove that nothing has changed with them.
Can you imagine Hero Arts singling out a customer like this? Seriously, big companies don't have the time to track individual customers and if those customers say negative things, they certainly have the class NOT to respond to it.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty bad Ami when you can't even garner support on a smack blog. Move on and let it go. I am sure you are much too important a person to mess with any of this anyway.
ReplyDeleteAmi, I am sorry to hear that you have been banned.
ReplyDeleteRick, you and PTI are just so small. I understand that your forum generated a huge percentage of your business and you guys feel burnt. But wow, that email is small.
ReplyDeleteThe first problem is Ami thinking she can be the Erin Brockovich of the stamping community.
ReplyDeletei find it a little creepy that rick (doesn't he have a real job selling appliances??) is tracking forums and matching up comments with users. has PTI ever banned anyone from BUYING its products?
ReplyDeletesorry, but PTI is playing detective and this is just another reason why I do not buy from that company. or post on its forum. shudders.
I agree with Rick's decision to ban Ami. Convince me you wouldn't do the same if someone was bashing you all over the internet and you had the power to ban that person.
ReplyDeleteI don't really think reading or hearing about a post on another board is all that labor intensive. I seriously doubt they are "detecting" and actively monitoring comments about them. But when someone is extremely vocal and saying things like the company "gives customers the finger" - well, people are going to notice that. She obviously has a reputation for smacking PTI in any forum available.
ReplyDeleteWhy would any company want someone like that posting on their own forum? You can't have it both ways and there are consequences for your actions. I don't feel sorry for Ami in the least.
I do, however, agree with Ami that the two-year-refund girl was foolish to think she should get that refund, but it has nothing to do with PTI in particular. No company should give her a refund after two years.
ReplyDeleteAND... I don't think it was "small" of him to send her that email. "Small" would've been to get into a pissing match with her on the Two Peas board or somewhere else. I thought his email was appropriate. I'm sure they've been aware of her derogatory remarks in the past but she just stepped over the line this time.
ReplyDeleteI think that PTI is tracking what is said about them - by anyone - on other forums. So it cannot be surprising that Rick can identify people who comment regularly about PTI - good or bad.
ReplyDeleteI am assuming that Ami can still buy from PTI.
Who was the poster that allegedly tried to return a used impression plate as a new duplicate purchase and then stated an anti-PTI campaign?
New post is up.
ReplyDeleteMonkey ass
ReplyDeleteOh yeah baby
