  1. The latest controversy: Was Rick right or wrong in banning Ami from the forum?

    ReplyDelete
  2. For 2/26 9:20 am from the previous post - It turns out that "two year refund girl" (ha!) from the 2Peas forum had used reward points on her order, which dropped it well below the free shipping amount. This was addressed on the PTI forum, which I know some here no longer read. So...for 2 years she's been mad about something that was her fault in the first place. Priceless!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yeah, the whole two-year refund thing was really lame.

I think the plate switcheroo gal's name was Rachel. She bellyached all over the place including SCS and I think so many people were suspect that she dropped it - at least publicly. It was getting really old. Me thinks the "lady" doth protest too much ;) .

  4. It's an interesting perspective PTI has. It's not the company's actions thar "harm" the company, it's the customers talking about the company's actions that "harm" the company. These three stooges and their hunchback are the ultimate narcissists!

    ReplyDelete
  5. OMG I made a negative comment about PTI on my blog recently and a couple of times before. I just checked and yes, I am banned at PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  6. 10:14 has it right. I agree with the post that Hero Arts would never stoop so low as to single out people who had the nerve to diss their products. It is just so classless that I didn't think even PTI could go so low. But, looks like none of them have ever been taught a thing about business image and ethics.

  7. 10:38 again here. Betting they have a squad reporting dissenters to Rick and searching blogs.

    ReplyDelete
  8. If I had a friend that spoke ill of me everywhere she went, and yet pretended to be my friend to my face, I would stop inviting her to my house. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 10:38 You are a liar.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Agree with you both 11:20 and 11:22.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I would only believe 10:38 if she had a well-known blog. But 'in her own mind' doesn't count. ;-)

  12. Worth reposting from the end of the last post:

I think that PTI is tracking what is said about them - by anyone - on other forums. So it cannot be surprising that Rick can identify people who comment regularly about PTI - good or bad.

    ReplyDelete
  13. C'mon. Tracking? Deliberately and systematically searching various blogs and forums to see if anyone is dishing dirt on them? Good grief. Stuff comes across their path just like it does with the rest of us. And someone who is really vocal and disparaging is going to stick out. Has anyone else noticed that there really isn't much chatter about pti except from those with an ax to grind?

    ReplyDelete
  14. No, they are a stamp business and they monitor the main forums. That is good business practice, not 'stalking'.

What they do with the information they find is debatable. They obviously do not use it to improve their customer service.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Man, this is good reading!

    ReplyDelete
  16. 12:35 pm,
No, the amount or lack of chatter is not surprising at all.
There is little chatter about SU!, A Muse and other direct-buy companies unless they are new or have really great designs.

    ReplyDelete
  17. But wasn't the desired outcome of posting all her aches and pains so PTI would look bad and know she was pissed? It isn't like she was hiding it. So PTI was NOT on a witch hunt.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Good news for anyone who has been waiting on their Flourishes order...I just got an email saying it's been sent with a tracking #. They must just be really bogged down from the huge clear out. I'm relieved and glad because I really wanted what I ordered :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Having been single and in the internet dating world, I can tell you from first hand experience that it is not hard to find out what someone is talking about. I would google prospective dates by using their match handles. Surprise, surprise, it would be the same handle for other dating sites and/or other things. It was QUITE interesting to see what and where they were posting and WHAT they were looking for in dating (or more realistically, not dating but scoring).

Now, if you use the same handle/name everywhere, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to find you. I'm not a rocket scientist and I'm pretty sure based on what I've read, Rick isn't either.

The PTI forum is theirs to run as they wish. They can exclude anyone or include anyone that they want. Was it wise of him to kick Ami off?

He could have engaged her on the boards but I suspect it would be devolved into a he said/she said all caps shouting match. That's not good for business and wouldn't make Ami more agreeable to PTI products and like them. So banning her was probably the best and easiest decision with the least consequences.

Should he have written her a note? To me, I don't know. Part of me would say that it was a "courtesy" to let her know what happened so she wouldn't keep bothering the administrator of the PTI forum. But sometimes with people, it's best to just ignore them once you've made the decision to move on.

So if you use the same name over and over and over in different forums, youtube, facebook, twitter, whatever, it's very easy to google and see what else has been posted under that name. It may not be remotely accurate, that's true, but it also might be.

And this is my first time posting here. (Although some of you will be crazy enough to compare every fourth letter to make it spell out Michelle Obama or Michelle Bachman *)

*depending on your political point of view

    ReplyDelete
  20. I would assume that *every* company monitors what it being said about them across the internet - it's easy enough to set up a google alert for your company name, and you'll get an e-mail every time it's mentioned. It's good business - I've seen stamp company owners pop into a thread to answer a question or offer a solution to a problem, and I have a hard time believing that they're sitting on their computer all day, monitoring forums and blogs. They'd never have time to design new stamps if that was true. So, I don't have a problem with PTI "monitoring" other forums. But, if Rick had thought for a bit, he should have been able to figure out that if he banned someone from the PTI forum for negative remarks made on other forums, that she was going to go back to some of those other forums and talk about it. If it was truly because of the post at Two Peas, the ban was just silly. Even the non-PTI fans on that thread agreed that after 2 years no company was going to give her that refund, and the thread had pretty much died out. Why resurrect it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. She must have posted somewhere using her real identity. Or did Rick just ban all forum members named "Ami"?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I've read just about every post on the various incarnations of the PTI smack blogs, plus a good bit of reading on other forums. The individual associated with a bright pink daisy avatar and username m...... several years ago was heavily involved in pot stirring. Sometimes it seemed there was sheer enjoyment in keeping it going. I don't really blame a company for not wanting that particular type of customer. Whether it's a good business move to tick off someone who has previously, and for years, publicly trashed your company, I don't know. But I can completely understand why they did.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why is anyone surprised by anything that PTI does? It's well known that they play by their own rules an f*** anyone else involved, including the customer.

I am hopeful to think that reputable companies such as wplus9, Avery Elle, Mama Elephant, Hero Arts, Waltzingmouse and more don't have to resort to such petty measures. However, I doubt that they will as all of them offer excellent customer service and appear to value their customers.

I for one appreciated having Ami on the forum. In the old days when there was a problem raised on this blog that us 'anons' didn't dare ask on the forum for fear of reprisals, either Ami or Donna would bring it up there so it could be openly discussed with the management. It's funny how that part has been forgotten.

And no, I am neither Ami, Donna or from one of the companies mentioned above.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 4:38 I know exactly who you are referring to. She was a pot stirrer. For some reason I want to say her name was Ami too. Hmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Now Rick just deletes any problem posts and tells people to send a message to Zendesk, don't they?

(I haven't been there in long while, not since the wild release nights from 3-4 years ago. I could never keep up with all the crossing conversations.)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Imagine, just imagine if Michael's or Hobby Lobby or any of those sent an email like Rick sent. Just think about it for a moment. Rick has no concept that silence is golden and that HE is the one stirring the pot every time. I guess they figure bad press is better than no press at all. PTI and Miley Cyrus should team up.

    ReplyDelete
  27. PTI had some MAJOR screwups, I'll give you that. They made bad decisions, had product problems and customer service was seriously lacking. Now, they continue to be under a magnifying glass because of that. I was just as critical as some of you a couple of years ago when their rep went on the downhill slide. But I don't hear of any of those kinds of problems anymore. I have more of the impression that they kept their heads down and plowed ahead. The worst thing they have going on now is probably inventory control. Too many things from recent releases are out of stock. Other than that, I don't hear a lot of complaints except for the oddball instances like the 2-year refund chick and now the banning business.

Honestly, I completely understand why they banned someone from their own forum because that person is badmouthing them. I probably would have just sent a very cold message or email telling the person that she's been banned and I'm not sure I'd even offer an explanation. It's not like she wouldn't know why. I can see where it should keep her from pestering them if they explain up front, but I don't think they should feel obligated to do so. And what the hell does this Ami person care about it anyway? Why would you want to hang out in a forum for a company that you have such bad feelings toward? Just to stir the pot? Ami sounds a bit schizo to me - complimenting them on their board and then badmouthing them elsewhere.

If you visit a company's forum, you are a guest in their "home." If you can't mind your manners, or are two-faced and stab them in the back, then they'd be crazy to welcome you with open arms.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You almost had me 7:22 with the Michael's/HL analogy. But first, it's like comparing apples and oranges. The stores are not comparable in size or business model. Secondly, I'm pretty sure if you were a shopper who then went to neighboring stores or competitors or stood outside the store to make derogatory statements about them to other shoppers and potential customers, you're more likely to get a letter from their attorneys.

The bottom line here is that this Ami person is getting all of the attention she apparently craves.

    ReplyDelete
  29. PTI is finding out that wrinkles in the sheets of the bed they made years ago are still there and they must continue to lie on the reputation they created for themselves. Do you think people are ever going to see Walmart in a kindly manner someday? I doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well, 7:51, whether you ever see WalMart in a kindly manner depends largely upon whether you currently hate them or are one of their regular customers.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ami IS the 2 year old refund chick.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Which Ami is the refund chick?

    ReplyDelete
  33. No, the two-year-old-refund lady is Alison, in Ireland. Ami in the past has had a bright pink flower as her avatar, and according to the 2Peas post is located in California.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 8:29 again - I do find it interesting that Alison has not gone back to 2Peas to report that the reason she got charged for shipping 2 years ago was that she used reward points, which reduced her total below the free shipping threshold. I'm assuming she was using a shipping buddy in the US, to even be expecting free shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 8:29 ahhh you're right. I got those 2 mixed up.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ordered 2/20 from Flourishes but still no shipping email or tracking number. Fingers crossed they're just s-l-o-w and that I get a shipping notice real soon. Thanks for the update Feb 26 2:21pm!

    ReplyDelete
  37. "February 26, 2014 at 11:20 AM
If I had a friend that spoke ill of me everywhere she went, and yet pretended to be my friend to my face, I would stop inviting her to my house. Period."

I had to agree with you there. As for the comments regarding how other companies *might* handle the situation, well, we really can't say now since they don't have a person like AMI in their history. It's really easy to say how to do this and that but if I were PTI, I would have done the same. I would be very wary of having a person that bashes me in my own forum. Sorry Ami...

    ReplyDelete
  38. I thought I read somewhere that they did not send Ami an email. Ami supposedly opened a customer service ticket demanding to know why her account had been limited on the forum, and she got her answer. I think Ami has been stirring the pot on the forum for years, and as far as I know she is not even a customer of PTI.

    ReplyDelete
  39. How in the heck would you know if Ami has purchased PTI products? You are spitting into the wind.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nice to see Rick posting here.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I've gone back and re-read the last two threads and the only people who would know if refund girl "used rewards points" and Ami "demanded to know why her account had been limited on the forum" would be PTI. So my Nancy Drew skills tell me Rick is a member of this blog!

    ReplyDelete
  42. ^^^^^^^ I think you are on to something!

    ReplyDelete
  43. But now Rick will be more cautious once he has realized he is transparent. Darn, I liked knowing it was him, but him not knowing we knew.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Rick and the Three Stooges are the ultimate narcissists so he'll always be transparent.

    ReplyDelete
  45. i left the PTI fan club a while ago and literally haven't looked back. don't care a whit who they ban or why! if you buy from them, enjoy. if not, enjoy the hobby.

now, i am wondering if anyone knows what is going on with waltzingmouse. a small release is coming. i wish they produced more!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I missed out on the paper smooches sale. I thought it would be on March 1. Super sad.

    ReplyDelete
  47. What do you think about the MIM video by Dawn? I am not a PTI hater, in fact I love some of their products, but the video was really :| Why would Nichole even approve that?

    Sigh.

I really wanted to hit dislike on the video (for the first time ever), and what do you know? They have disabled both comments and rating buttons on all videos. Is that how much insecure they are?

I've seen a few dislike on Kristina Werner's/ Jennifer McGuire's videos, but they don't seem to care about it because a huge number actually like it, so it's no big deal for them(and their subscribers as well). Why doesn't PTI go that route?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I did not watch the video, but love the technique. I have seen it on blogs and Pinterest and have wanted to make some cards like that.

    ReplyDelete
  49. 12:25 Rick posted on the forum in response to Ali that she used reward points.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 6:34 why would they go that route? Because of people like Ami who are just downright mean and enjoy making disparaging comments. I have read enough of Ami's posts on SCS and the PTI forum to support my beliefs.

    ReplyDelete
  51. For 2/27 12:25 am - Your Nancy Drew skills are sorely lacking. I'm 2/26 9:33 am and 8:29 pm, and I only reported that the 2-year-refund matter had been addressed on the PTI forum. As I'm a wife and mother, I'm definitely not Rick. Sometimes trying to be too clever just makes you wrong.

And anyway, there was a time when Rick did post on this or the previous blog, and most of the time as himself.

    ReplyDelete
  52. So 6:34 am - what was your issue with the video? I've just watched it, and didn't see a problem. It's a bit below my skill level, but so what? If you've ever read comments on various blog posts, or even gallery pictures on Splitcoast, for even the most simple techniques people post asking questions about how it was done. Not everyone in the craft is experienced or advanced, and videos for simple techniques have a place and purpose.

As far as disabling comments, Dawn has been criticized on this or the previous smack blog for her choice of even nail polish and rings, to say nothing of her more colorful choices in cardstock and ink. I don't doubt for an instant that there would be people who would dislike just for fun or leave petty criticisms without a second's hesitation.

    ReplyDelete
  53. 6:34 am,
Were the like buutons/comments just turned off this week? I have never noticed before.

I thought the MIM video was pretty lame. It was supposed to be an introduction to watercoloring. All she did was brush across the paper or dab the brush on the paper.

    ReplyDelete
  54. 9:31 am,

I don't mind fingernail polish in videos. But I find Dawn's jewelry (large rings & bracelets) to be very distracting in her videos.

The jewelry (size and color) gets in the way of showcasing the techniques and the cards in the video.

The focus of the videos should be the cardmaking and not her jewelry. SMH !

    ReplyDelete
  55. For 9:04 - nice try to cover your tracks rick.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Someone asked about the WMS release. In the last 6 months or more, all over the place, there's been a lot of discussion in general about stampers wanting releases spread out more - that it's overwhelming with the constant new releases when people barely have time to work with the previous month's release. The owner of WMS has said that she had a lot of personal upheaval in the last year (I believe it was illness and she moved). I remember hearing once that she had an assistant there and she has someone in the States because they also ship from the US now. Other than that - it's just a one-person show. I'm sure that's a ton of work to DO IT ALL! Recently she has said that she's wanted to get on a regular schedule and realizes that it's probably the best move business-wise to go back to more frequent releases. Personally, I'm happy with a small release and hope it gets to be a regular thing. I think that's a good compromise.

    ReplyDelete
  57. WTH? PS had a one-day sale? I guess if you blink, you miss it. Kind of lame.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ordered Flourishes on 2/18 and still nothing. :( I guess they are REALLY backed up!

    ReplyDelete
  59. if I was posting on here you would know....

    ReplyDelete
  60. 1:55PM I ordered on the 17th, so hopefully your tracking email will be sent soon! I just got mine yesterday. I think they are just super slow...

    ReplyDelete
  61. I ordered on the 24th (Flourishes) and just got a shipping notice.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I saw the PS announcement shortly after it came out (insomnia). I tried to place an order, but the discount code would not work for me. By the time I woke up and tried again, the die I wanted was out of stock already. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I made a complaint to SCS administrators about Ami and her out of control posts awhile back. This is a hobby for most us. Not the Hunger Games.

    ReplyDelete
  64. LOL, Hunger Games! No kidding!

I'm even chill with PTI now - I like to come here to hear what's going on with other companies, too, etc. And even though I don't have a problem that I can't handle re: PTI, I figure if I hang out here a little bit, I'll know if there's anything to be concerned about.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I ordered on the 20th and still no shipping notice. I don't think it's a backlog anymore, I think they might have run out of stock of the items I ordered.

    ReplyDelete
  66. 7:26 again. I ordered from Flourishes.

    ReplyDelete
  67. 7:26- I hope not for your sake! I ordered on the 17th and it took until the 26th to get the shipping notice, so 7 business days. I'd say they are just really slow and I sure do hope you get a notice soon!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I ordered on the 10th, got shipping notice on the 24th and received it today. They were short on one of the ribbons I ordered so they refunded me in cash.

      Delete
  68. expect that Flourishes will make good on all orders or refund if unable to supply the sets. this is an honest company.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Thanks, 10:42. This is 1:55. It was my first order from them, so I was a bit hesitant. I had been eyeing a few things and the 50% sale was too good to pass up. I placed a rather large order, so I was getting a bit worried when it didn't ship within a few days. Today is the 10th day since my order.

    ReplyDelete
  70. 10:42 pm here. Flourishes is a stand up company. It would be best if they posted something on the store indicating what customers can expect during a close out sale. Large volume plus little incentive to keep people happy enough to come back can slow down orders. Communication helps though!

    ReplyDelete
  71. what do you think of the market kit offered by papertrey? worth $85. it isn't my style. I could never use feathers or gold doilies and do not like how they look on any of the samples. **shudders**. However the stamps, dies and paper are gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I hope the people from Flourishes would post something too. Fingers crossed I get an email. Signed, 7:26

    ReplyDelete
  73. I guess I missed the Flourished going-out-of-business notices. Their store doesn't say anything about it. And everything is full price. ???

    ReplyDelete
  74. 9:15 am - I've been getting emails about the Flourishes sale, including the code to get the discount. Each Monday the discount went up 10%, and on 2/24 was up to 60%.

I just went to look, and it seems the sale has ended. A blog post on 2/24 said, "We're not sure when these deals will end". A second blog post on 2/24, the very same day, said the Gambler's Sale would be ending at the stroke of midnight. Definitely some confusion going on there.

I ordered on the 10th, received the order on the 20th with missing items. I've sent 2 emails on the 20th and 27th regarding getting a refund. No response to either email, and no credit. If this goes on too much longer, I'll just file a dispute with my credit card company.

    ReplyDelete
  75. 9:32 Do not fret. They are an honest company and will make it right. They are not going to go out that way.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Does Simon Says Stamp have long ship times? I ordered from them on the 22nd and haven't gotten a shipping notice. Seems like everyone is taking a while to ship these days.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Simon Says Stamp shipping times can be all over the place. If you order at the time of a new release (like new HA stuff), it seems their ship times are slow. Between those releases, their ship times improve considerably. But still slower than, say, Ellen Hutson.

    ReplyDelete
  78. simon says has great products but their shipping is a roll of the dice. plan for 3 weeks

    ReplyDelete
  79. Hmm, where did my comment on the new Market kit disappear to?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I posted that I didn't think that the new Market kit embellishments were very 'luxe'. ONE doily, 3 teeny feathers, a mouse's fart worth of sequins and some twine?

I guess it's special because the twine comes on a wooden spool?

    ReplyDelete
  81. I just had a look at the new PTI Market kit and like parts of it and not others at all. I was kind of surprised how many non-consumables they included but the price of the kit every month is WAY out of my budget. Perhaps it's a good business move to offer an exclusive kit off the regular release schedule, but for me it's just too much. All the examples were okay but nothing wowed me. I did have the idea to use some local duck feathers I've collected with my kids on my cards! Price- the cost of the drive and looking for them! :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. drat, wasn't thinking much of the waltzingmouse release until I saw the full set. i love it. more money out the pocket!

    ReplyDelete
  83. bad mouthing PTI is very different from bad mouthing HL or J's. The difference being PTI wants you to believe they are your friend. HL doesn't care about you personally (or even pretend to - which is totally fine....it's a business not a family reunion.) So I think that comparing PTI's response of banning that Ami chick is vastly different than HLs response would be to someone bad mouthing them even to a competitor. I just don't see HL or J or M caring much. Don't like us, don't shop here kinda attitude.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Here's how I look at the Market kit. I like all of the "permanent" products - the innovative plate with inserts, the dies and the stamps. Those total $51.

Of the consumables, there are a few that I would be interested in trying. The letterpress stock, gold foil label sheets, the metallic tapes which equals $24.

I have and love the Delicata gold pad - maybe I'll like this one a lot, too, and it's cheaper. I don't have sequins but I can see using them and I like the gold. I'm sure I'll manage to use the twine. The things I couldn't care less about are the doily and the feathers which I already have.

So the bottom line is that I'd be paying $10 for a few low-priced items that I could do without. Well, heck, how many times have I impulsively tossed a few things into my cart at Michael's and Joann's and they turned out to just not be my thing?

It still qualifies for free shipping and rewards. I do feel a little bit manipulated by the concept of "once it's sold out, it's gone forever," but I also see the marketing/business value of setting up a limited edition sort of thing like that.

I'm only on the fence because I wonder how often I really want a superfancy card and that's what this is geared toward..... but.... I also am often stymied by big anniversaries and weddings where I do want the card to be extra-special.

As long as the plates can be used with regular cardstock, I think I may go for it this time.

    ReplyDelete
  85. The kit is overpriced considering how seldom I would need to use a kit like that. I saved up for it though, just in case, so now I get to spend that money at Waltzingmouse!

    ReplyDelete
  86. I find the kit fussy & busy rather than elegant - when you combine the IP backround with the embossed inner square and the bluy stamped image.

The gold tape (wide & thin) is nice. But the gold twine, foil medalions, doily, etc., are too much for me.

I can make elegant cards with what I have on hand. And I already have Delicata gold ink.

Don't buy into the 'limited time and then it's gone marketing'. There will always be something nice to buy. Let this one go if it doesn't really blow you away.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Oops, 'bluy' should be 'busy'. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  88. I forgot about the Waltzingmouse release. Just one stamp set? I've got a couple of older things I want, but have been waiting for a new release to get up to free shipping. I've already got gift card stuff from My Favorite Things and PTI, so definitely don't need another. Don't really want any feathers from anywhere, and already have more than enough flowers. Guess I'll be waiting for yet another release to order from Waltzingmouse.

    ReplyDelete
  89. This kit isn't worth $85. I didn't like any of the DT projects except for Heather's cards (even with kraft cardstock) and Danielle's last card. Melissa's cards were golden tackiness, Dawn's cards were ... well .. Dawn's cards, Betsy's projects were 'meh', and Danielle had a shaker card (WTF?).

    ReplyDelete
  90. PTI will be offering this new type of impression plate in the store, probably next month.
You heard it here first. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  91. Nothing for me from the WMS release too. Their dies are expensive! I like the funky florals with dies but 15.95 pounds for the die set? Never mind! I wish they would use other fonts than the one PTI already has or I think they have. It seemed familiar.
As for the PTI kit, I am thinking of buying it. I really like the dies/plates, gold tapes and the letterpress papers. Not too crazy about the feather but it's 0.25 so it's ok. The other stuff I can always experiment with :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. Anyone else find this bird stamp odd? It makes me kind of dizzy.

    http://creativesmiles2.blogspot.com/2014/02/March.html

    ReplyDelete
  93. I want to buy the stamp of a monkey.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Monkey ass is back!!!!

  95. But I love the monkey

    ReplyDelete
  96. Please inform to me about the stamp of a monkey to buy. I enjoy the stamp of a monkey so much. To me you will give the information at that time.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Where are the trees?

  98. Monkey monkey bo bunky

  103. And that too. Does anyone know who that is?

    ReplyDelete
  104. I think it's the other one but I'm not sure. Can they see both sides?

    ReplyDelete
  105. Probably, but it's not important.

    ReplyDelete
  106. My ass is hot and sweaty

    ReplyDelete
  107. It smells bad too!

  114. Cristina's left PTI. She'll be missed.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Geez, they're back - jr & sr. It was too good to last.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Christina has known about this book for years. wonder why she jumped so suddenly? Love Laurie and wish her well. She is a very nice person and a great cardmaker. Not much of a pti user though. I guess that will change.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Laurie. Blech! Hate to see Christina go.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I really like Laurie and all her designs. But I have to admit that I was surprised but not at the same time ( dos that make sense) She already has great ideas, look at her hanger dies that she created and now sells. Of course PTI will be all over that!

    ReplyDelete
  119. OMG! I went to her blog and from there to Reverse Confetti! I am in heaven and have found my PTI replacement, finally! I have a $300 order ready to place on payday, which is Monday! Ecstatic. I had seen a little of their stuff, but until I saw the actual RC Blog, I hadn't been impressed. All. Over. It!

    ReplyDelete
  120. If you are spending your paycheck on crafting you are an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I don't think reverse confetti and PTI are on the same design scale. I think it's dumb to spend that much money in a company that you are not familiar with. If you are replacing PTI with RC obviously you are an idiot. Like the poster above said.
I'm not a PTI uni...but I do know that there is way better designs out there than RC.

    ReplyDelete
  122. My pay is 100% my play money. If I wanted I could spend all $6000 of that check on stamps. My house is paid for, my 3 cars are paid for, I own nothing to anyone in any way and have enough money to retire to day and live on about $9000 a month. Why am I waiting for my check? Because I don't spend ANY of my savings.

    ReplyDelete
  123. 2:42 yeah right.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Wow! Thanks for the heads up. I had never checked out the company blog. Reverse Confetti is the bomb!

    ReplyDelete
  125. Some of us choose not to live on credit. It really, really pays off big when you are in your 50's and invested all that which other people paid out in interest. Oh, and btw, I only work 30 hours a week and half of that is from home.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Hmm, I had a look at Reverse Confetti for the first time and the only thing that I would order is a $16 tag me dies, meh, certainly not a replacement for PTI for me.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Oh, and Ms Penner is on the DT at RC so they are a definite no for me.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Why would you eliminate an honest company with good customer service out of spite at a human being you have never even met?

    ReplyDelete
  129. I'm eliminating them because I don't like the designs, add in that over-exposed crafter and it seals the deal. You like them so much, you buy their products.

    ReplyDelete
  130. 2:42 I think you are the liar that posts here

    ReplyDelete
  131. The monkey is in the tree. It eats bananas and flings poop. Monkeys are funny. I want to be a monkey.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Can I get a woot woot

    ReplyDelete
  133. I had a pet monkey and he smelled like baby powder.

    ReplyDelete
  134. My ass smells like baby powder or maybe it smells like vagina.

    ReplyDelete
  135. My baby powder smells like vagina

    ReplyDelete
  136. Sometimes my feet smell like whale ass

    ReplyDelete
  137. As of a few minutes ago they have $304 of my money. Their prices are amazing! I read a number of reviews of their stellar customer service, return policies, fast shipping, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  138. My vagina smells like feet

    ReplyDelete
  139. How did they get $304 of your monkey?

    ReplyDelete
  140. Thanks for sharing your finances. You are still an idiot. A big one.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Not so much of an idiot that my brains didn't help me make good financial choices and have a career that paid well. And no, I am not a Rep. and yes, I heavily support many charitable services.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Why does it always turn into a pissing contest over who has more money, who has more stash and who donates the most to charity. I really don't give a rat's ass.

How many of you are planning on buying the Make it Market Kit?

    ReplyDelete
  143. 2:42 Don't knock yourself out patting yourself on the back. A little humility goes a long way.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Hey, I was slammed and called an idiot for spending my pay on stamps. I don't have the right to explain that I am not taking food from my family's mouths?

    ReplyDelete
  145. ^^^ That may have been the case, it just came off as very bourgeois and showy in a time when most people are in a recession.

    ReplyDelete
  146. 5:03, I'll be buying the kit.

    ReplyDelete
  147. LOL, I am middle class and not bourgeois in any way. I live a very simple life in the country.

    ReplyDelete
  148. A $6000 pay check?!? Before or after taxes? Monthly? Biweekly? Weekly? What do you do exactly, since you're being open here?

    ReplyDelete
  149. Reverse Confetti? Stamp designs are a bit 'meh', very basic. The shop website is not well-designed, no pricing on pages with multiple items.

Sorry, but I'm not impressed. There are just too many companies out there with mediocre designs. I'm not surprised that a lot are folding. Your friends and family can only buy so much.

    ReplyDelete
  150. My opinion is just that: my opinion. I do tend to like stamps that I van buy from an online store rather than directly from the company. More variety that way.

    Avocado Arts? Meh.
    Newton's Nook? Sickeningly sweet.
CAS-Fridays? As one of their stamp sets says, WTF?
    Reverse Confetti? Meh.
Clearly Besotted? Just OK, very simple, but they've been picked up by SSS in the States (and promoted by JM?), so they will probably do ok.

There are others, but they are pretty niche and forgetable.

I don't care for MFT, but their dies were affordable. Now their shipping rates are nuts.

Clean & Simple? Way too expensive for me even if I liked their designs.

Mama Elephant? A little too cute & simple for me.

Avery Elle? I do like a few of their sets.

And don't get me started on all the big-headed girls with cankles (calf & feet, no ankles).

    Any other companies out there?

    ReplyDelete
  151. ^^ oops, CAS-ual Fridays.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I am not a uni or a hater. But you cannot compare PTI with Reverse Confetti. At least PTI products give you a chance to try many techniques and to stretch your creativity.

    ReplyDelete
  153. For those that have Amuse ink, what are your favorite colors? I am getting their Summer and Spring ink collections, plus a few extra colors.

    ReplyDelete
  154. I have a few Avery Elle stamp sets and like them. I just got two new sets from Winnie and Walter. Very clean and simple -- that's my style.

    ReplyDelete
  155. 7:19. You summed up my thoughts on other companies exactly!

    ReplyDelete
  156. Please to me the monkey stamp. I will buy on it.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Can the stamp be a monkey?

    ReplyDelete
  158. Vajayjay smells like stupid things

    ReplyDelete
  159. Does your vajayjay smell like penis?

    ReplyDelete
  160. No, it smells like monkey

    ReplyDelete
  161. If the monkey is on the stamp can it be many times on the paper?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Why are the people and the monkeys?

    ReplyDelete
  163. Because the penis is in the vagina

    ReplyDelete
  164. MONKEY ASS, I WAS MISSING YOU!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  165. Hey Jr, I was missing you too!

  166. Smelly smelly feet

  173. this is from Ellen Hutson's FB page. A customer service inquiry followed by Ellen's response. Rick, when you think of some of us as haters, please consider that this is how we are treated elsewhere.

I really love the tag Christmas with a feminine twist that uses the trees and deer. I ordered all the dies and sat down to put my tags together. However, I was so disappointed with a couple of the dies, especially the one that makes branches. They look like branches from a Christmas tree. I tried different thicknesses of paper, but could not get a good cut out. I have a vagabond and had just purchased a thick mat....so I thought perhaps that would make it better, but I still could not get that die to cut out all the areas. Can you tell me what kind of paper you used? The dies are very detailed....I had problems initially with the horns on the deer, but the Matt worked perfectly. I love this tag so much! Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Ellen Hutson LLC Please send us a quick message at customerservice@ellenhutson.com and we will help you figure this out. For detailed dies we recommend the metal adaptor plate, but sometimes dies can be defective so we need to help you figure this one out. Thank you!

  175. 7:43 & 7:48 pm, it's 7:19 pm here.

I forgot to mention Lawn Fawn. I have a few sets, Admit One and Making Frosty Friends (I wish I had Blue Skies instead of PTI's hot air balloons). I love their alphabet sets - very easy to line up. But they mostly too cutesy for me.

I do like many Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I do like some Penny black rubber stamps (I'm not crazy about their clear stamps).

My favorite company is Hero Arts. They have good stamp designs. And you cannot beat their background stamp designs.

Any other good ones out there?

    ReplyDelete
  176. 7:49 am, I asked her.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I used to like A Muse wooden stamps. Then they closed their online store, started a SU-like company selling cling stamps and pretty much disappeared. Except for those posters here who keep mentioning their inks.
