SS varies. I have had good and bad experiences. Mostly the bad is 2-3 weeks before shipping sometimes and then finding out that items are missing due to backorder, rather than being told upfront. I use them only when I have no other options. I much, much prefer Ellen Hutson for my big orders of a variety of things. I also use Amazon Prime.
Ellen has the fastest shipping ever. I have always liked Impress customer service too. Sometimes their shipping is a little slow, but talk about backing products. I have had damaged items twice in the last 10 years and both times they immediately sent a replacement.
Emily from Stamping Bella was the other "company" on that cruise.
I haven't order too many times, but have always been impressed with Ellen Hutson. The other company I order frequently from and get great service is i {heart} papers. Maybe not as "big" as SSS or EH, but always current, trendy product and very fast shipping. And no I'm not affiliated, but I am a friend and fan of the company so why not give a shameless plug? :)
Blog owner, here's an idea. Don't allow anonymous comments. Oh wait, if people have to own their comments, they won't be making up a bunch of shit about PTI and then this blog is useless.
Anther great store oddly enough is 123 stitch. They are a cross stitch/embroidery supply store but they stock wplus9, MFT and the like. Super fast shipping..even to Canada
I have gripes against EH, and bluemoon scrapbooking (which I used to love but I hold a grudge) and I heart paper but I agree 123stitch and Create for Less are great.
Used to shop at 7kids college fund - but I get tired of putting things in my cart to find they are out of stock.
I have ordered from Oozak. Only once, but it was very quick service and I was pleased with that. I have heard good things from others who've purchased from him.
EH charges by weight for shipping, don't they? Don't you find it expensive? What is their average shipping time? Versus the flat rate from SSS. I know SSS takes an incredible amount of time to package the order (1-2 weeks) and then it takes 1-2 weeks to get here.
I have had nothing but super fast shipping from EH. Never had a problem with something listed as "in stock" only to order and find out it wasn't. Seems like she ships in hours after the order is placed and it gets to me cross country in days. Her free shipping is high at $150 but I usually have a frequent shopper coupon that negates the shipping charge.
SSS has free shipping at $75 but the shipping can be slow at times. I've also ordered items that were in stock (according to the website) and had my orders delayed for weeks. I can only guess the items weren't really in stock. To be fair, I've also received orders in reasonable times.
I've also ordered from 1-2-3 stitch and had good service. I don't think they offer free shipping at all.
Give www.awdml.com a try. They have cheap and fast shipping and a huge selection of stuff. I order my WPlus9, Memory Box, My Favorite Things from them. I like the fact that they are a LSS store too, so I still feel like I'm supporting a LSS even though I have to shop online.
New post is up. I'm betting it's just going to be monkey comments, though, because everyone else has a life, friends, and family with which to spend the holiday.
1st!
ReplyDeleteThanks SS for the clean up!
ReplyDeleteQuestion. What is your experience with Simon Says Stamp?
9:57 I have never bought Simon Says Stamps. I prefer PTI.

ReplyDeleteI've purchased from Ellen Hutson several times. She has great customer service.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your favorite PTI stamp set.
ReplyDeleteDoes Ellen Hutson sell the stamp of a monkey?
ReplyDeleteYes. http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/the-9778/Hanging-Monkey%2C-Memory-Box%2C/Detail
DeleteI will buy the stamp of a monkey. Thank you.
DeleteWhy can we not talk about monkeys?
ReplyDeleteI love monkeys. They are so cute. They live in the jungle. They eat bananas. I love monkeys.
ReplyDeleteGosh "blog" owner. Perhaps you should moderate the comments.
ReplyDeleteJust ignore the monkey person.
ReplyDeleteEllen Hutson is a sweetheart. I met her once and she was as nice as can be. I always order from her and have never had a problem.

ReplyDeleteRemember the cruise with Gina K and PTI? It was when they were both just starting out and they were "friends." I wonder what ever happened
ReplyDeleteWell, I would bet my firstborn's life on that the problem was Nichole and not Gina.
ReplyDeleteThere was another stamp company on the cruise too but I can't remember who it was.
ReplyDeleteThe PTI blog hop is terrible. What a lame theme this month!
ReplyDeleteI am subscribed to many, many, many blogs and only saw 3 entries this morning and 2 were kind of crooked.

ReplyDelete1:12 it's a conundrum, eh?
ReplyDeleteMonkey ass junior, where you be?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Stamping Bella. That's why I couldn't remember who it was. I hate those stamps. LOL
ReplyDeleteiheart is good too!

ReplyDeleteI hope your friends and family are safe from you. You have a serious problem.
ReplyDeleteI stopped shopping with EH because of high shipping costs.
ReplyDelete123 Stitch gets a two thumbs up from me.

ReplyDeleteSSS is $5.99 under $75 and free over $75.
ReplyDeleteEH is free over $150, but it is by weight if under $150. That's very expensive, isn't it?
For the PTI unicorn, since you are so opposed to it, please feel free to stop posting anonymous so we know who you are.
ReplyDeleteYou are are complete hypocrite and coward!
Are you referring to the monkey's ass?
ReplyDeletesays the anonymous poster at 12:43 lol
ReplyDeletePlaces I ordered from this week that were NOT PTI...
ReplyDeleteamazon, SSS, Studio Calico, Avery Elle, yay!!!
It's getting so much easier to not buy PTI:)
Just spent $2300 at PTI this week. Yay!
ReplyDeleteRe: EH by weight. I guess it depends what you're ordering. Dies and stamp sets are pretty light. Reams of card stock - now that's a different story!
ReplyDeleteHey, Mrs. Trump, I am surprised you would be into something as tacky as handmade.
ReplyDeleteSuch strange trolls here lately. PTI must really be hurting.
ReplyDelete3:35 pm - WTF did you buy? Enlighten us.
ReplyDelete12:43 You don't have the balls to give your name either.
ReplyDelete335 you are the new owner?! Please tell us more. That would cover their inventory without markup
ReplyDeleteI think 3:35 was sarcastically mimicking a uni.
ReplyDeleteI love monkeys. They are so cute. They live in the jungle. They eat bananas. I love monkeys.
ReplyDeleteMonkey ass!
ReplyDelete4:47 What the fuck does that mean? Just because people like PTI that makes them trolls?

ReplyDeleteWhat's a uni?
ReplyDeleteI think it's a type of stamp
ReplyDeleteMy ass itches again
ReplyDeleteWhat about your feet?
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing monkey slippers
ReplyDeleteOMG too funny!
